Thanks to you another successful year supporting Tools for Tomorrow. A Special Thank You to: Harold Matzner for sponsoring the Vision For The Future luncheon again this year. Also to: Donna MacMillan, Jeff Stanley, Alain Peracca, Bob and Irma Smith and to all of you wonderful supporters. Once again we continued our tradition of fun raising. The VISIONARIES Board did a stellar job this year thinking of new and entertaining ways to thank you. At the Vision of The Future luncheon we were dazzled by Tools for Tomorrow s new Theater Troupe s performance. These students were involved in the entire production. It was a thrill to see how they progressed from normal rambunctious kids to theater professionals. Gilmore Rizzo did a great job, not only with the performance, but also with helping build the children s confidence, speech projection, camaraderie and self-esteem. We are grateful to this year s Honoree Linda Rider, a kind and generous lady who shares her love for children and the arts with us. I m happy to announce that Linda will be joining the VISIONARIES Board of Directors in the fall along with Terri Neuman, Terri Childs and Chris Metz. We already have these very talented ladies working on next season s events. A very special thanks to The Desert Sun s Betty Frances, Trudy Tedder and JoAnne Hardy, to Pat Krause of Desert Star Weekly and to Palm Springs Life Magazine s Susan Stein, Emily Chavous and Ann Greer for their help in raising the awareness of the vital role that Tools For Tomorrow plays in the development of the children of the Coachella Valley. Speaking of next season s events, we re going to be bringing you a variety of fun raising events. Our goal is always to create an enjoyable time while keeping our mission of supporting the children at the forefront. The Vision for the Future luncheon will be on hiatus; instead we re planning A Glamorous Musical Theater Extravaganza featuring famous costumes and songs from the golden age of cinema and, to end the season, a Cinco de Mayo party and dinner under the stars. More info as the events develop. Have a great summer! Judith

This year marks the 18th anniversary of the TFT program founded by Rachel Druten which provides after school art literacy classes to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in the Coachella Valley public schools. Linda Rider is well-known in Coachella Valley as a dynamic, enthusiastic philanthropist who, not only, financially supports numerous charities, but gives of her time and talent. This year s entertainment program was produced and directed Gilmore Rizzo. It featured the Tools for Tomorrow children from Rancho Mirage Elementary. Karen and Tony Barone again generously created and donated the Vision for the Future award.
