Meet the Chairman & Keynote speakers Richard Urban BSc (Hons) MRICS MIoD (Chairman) Independent Non-Executive Director, Founder of Rivington Pike Richard is a Jersey-based independent non-executive director who sits on the offshore boards of funds, joint ventures and family offices. Richard has substantial real estate, structured finance, infrastructure, private equity and hedge fund investment and governance experience. He is also an industry award judge, regular conference speaker and has contributed extensively to investment management and pension industry press articles. Prior to founding Rivington Pike in 2014, Richard was an Investment Manager at Cardano, a City of London-based pension fund manager with over 50 billion of assets under management. Whilst at Cardano, Richard was responsible for designing and implementing the global real estate and real estate asset investment strategy, encompassing a broad range of credit and equity investments held in closed ended vehicles and hedge funds. He has held a number of advisory board appointments for funds which totalled over 2 billion of AUM. Prior to Cardano, Richard was employed by CBRE Real Estate Finance and the structured finance department of Moody s Investors Service, where he underwrote over 30 billion of UK and Pan-European loans and real estate. Richard is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Richard is a Member of the Institute of Directors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is also a RICS professional examinations assessor and a Trustee of Jersey Heritage. Richard holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Investment and Finance in Property from the University of Reading. Dr Walter Boettcher (Keynote speaker) Chief Economist, UK & EMEA Colliers International Dr Boettcher has over 20 years of UK/European experience across a wide range of property sectors and related industries. He joined Colliers International in August 2007, after several years at a London-based private property company. Previously, he worked at several London-based property advisory companies and as a Geographical Information System (GIS) consultant for CACI Ltd a UK-based census agency. Dr Boettcher is an economics graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received a PhD (Geography) from University College London. He is a member of the Society of Property Researchers, the London Property Economics Forum, and is an active commentator in the UK and European property press, known for his alternative take on markets. Dr Neil Blake (Keynote speaker) Global Head of Forecasting CBRE Prior to joining CBRE in 2012 Neil has held positions of Director of Economic Analysis at Oxford Economics and Director of Economics and Forecasting at Experian Business Strategies. He also worked for Wharton Econometrics (now IHS Global Insight) and the University of East Anglia. He holds degrees from the Universities of York and Warwick. Neil s role includes the co-ordination and development of forecasting services globally and he has overall responsibility for economic, property market and business forecasting in Europe. His extensive experience includes work for the Barker Review of Housing, Supply, the RICS City Office Model, How Much Space? for the BCSC, the IPF project on Property and Inflation, a retail strategy for the GLA and London s Competitive Place in the World Economy for the Corporation of London.

Meet the speakers Siobhan Durcan Director, Channel Islands Real Estate Sector Lead Deloitte Siobhan is a Director in Jersey and has over 17 years experience in offshore financial markets. Her audit clients range across real estate, private equity, retail, family office and fund management sectors. Siobhan leads the Channel Islands Real Estate Sector Group and has deep experience in managing complex real estate structures and property groups including pan-european property and expert funds. Siobhan leads Deloitte s largest real estate relationships. Sophie Reguengo Counsel Ogier Sophie is an experienced investment funds and regulatory lawyer with over 10 years of industry experience. She is focussed on private equity and real estate structures. Sophie is recognised as a rising star and regularly attends and speaks at conferences in Jersey and London. Sophie is an alumna of Bristol University and the University of the West of England. She holds a Master s in Commercial Law and Human Rights. Sophie features in the Citywealth Leaders List and is recognised as a Rising Star by IFLR1000 and a Next Generation Lawyer by Legal 500. Prior to joining Ogier at the beginning of 2018, Sophie trained and worked at another leading offshore firm, both in Jersey and in Hong Kong. Nick Terry MSc MRICS, Chartered Surveyor Client Director Ocorian Nick is a Chartered Surveyor with over 14 years property experience with specialisms in portfolio and asset management throughout the UK and Western Europe. He has gained considerable experience working with both institutional and private property investors with responsibility for managing portfolios in excess of 1 billion. Most recently he has overseen the National Farmers Union portfolio and prior to that held investment/asset manager roles within private property companies. Since relocating to Jersey in 2015, Nick now oversees a team specialising in the management of real estate funds and investment holding structures for international clients. During his career Nick has been involved in various aspects of property development as a client, investor, project manager and as a director. Nick holds a Masters Degree in Property Investment from the University of Reading and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Investment Property Forum.

Philip Hendy Head of Real Estate Services JTC Group Philip joined JTC in 2014 working in the Institutional Client Services division managing a portfolio of core clients with significant real estate structures. Previously a director at State Street for five years, he also had responsibility for heading up their real estate services department. Philip is a Chartered Surveyor with over 22 years experience in commercial property, much of it in private practice including Aviva, Legal and General, ITV Plc, RBS Plc, various government departments and with high net worth individuals. Simon Vardon Director Real Estate SANNE Simon is a director within SANNE s Real Estate business, and leads the strategic operations for the division with focus on building multi-jurisdictional teams for clients as well as leading the real estate financial reporting services globally. He has over 15 years experience in the financial services industry and holds board positions for leading real estate managers. Simon previously worked at a global financial services organisation where he was Head of Financial Reporting, leading a multi-jurisdictional team servicing entities holding real estate, private equity and capital market financed assets. Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians and began his career at Ernst & Young. SANNE are a specialist global provider of alternative asset and corporate administration services, with AUA of more than 200billion and are listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. Shelagh Mason English Solicitor and Consultant at Collas Crill Shelagh has over 35 years experience in the legal and property industries. She advises on all aspects of UK property and property development, property portfolio and management and corporate and trustee property services. She also advises on commercial property matters and leasehold matters in Guernsey. Prior to moving to Guernsey in 1999, Shelagh was a senior partner at Edge Ellison. Shelagh established Mason & Co in 2001, which merged with Spicer & Partners Guernsey LLP in 2010. She joined Collas Crill as a Consultant in December 2014. Shelagh is a non-executive director of a number of companies including being Chairman of the Channel Islands Property Fund Limited, on the board of The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited, a FTSE 250 company. Until recently she was on the Board of MedicX Fund Limited, a main market listed company investing in primary healthcare facilities, Leadenhall Property Company Jersey Limited, which developed the Cheesegrater, and for the 10 years ending in December 2014 she sat on the Board of Standard Life Investment Property Income Trust, a property fund listed on the London Stock Exchange. Shelagh is also a past chairman of the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Guernsey International Legal Association. Shelagh has also obtained the Institute of Directors Certificate and diploma in Company Direction with distinction.

Martin Rowley (Panel speaker) Partner, Tax Deloitte Martin is the partner in charge of Deloitte s Jersey Tax group and a partner in the firm s US Business Tax group. With over 25 years of experience in cross-border transactions and flows of capital, Martin advises clients on corporate and international tax matters across a wide range of industries and regularly acts for private equity houses, real estate funds, and sovereign financial institutions in the structuring and execution of their investments, joint ventures, and other M&A activities, as well as fund managers in the structuring of portfolio investments, financings, and divestments. His work in these areas is particularly focused on Offshore, Europe, China, India, and the MENA region. Martin is a regular speaker on international taxation and recognised by Chambers UK and Global as a leading individual in tax. Daniel Hainsworth (Panel speaker) Client Director, Corporate Services Hawksford Daniel has worked in the corporate and private wealth structuring industry for 17 years and has wide experience in providing professional director and company secretarial services to a diverse range of clients. Daniel sits on the board of several substantial public and private real estate investment, securitisation and Islamic finance structures as well as small and large multijurisdictional corporate businesses. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a member of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Institute of Directors.
