Williamsburg Spinners & Weavers Guild Minutes April 18, 2016 James City County Recreation Center Meeting called to order by Marsha Rehkamp at 10:05 am Correspondence: A woman is downsizing and has lots of things to get rid of, mostly spinning stuff. She is in Newport News. Information came out in an email. Minutes: Accepted as written Treasurer s Report: $2,850.55. Mo Purl order is subtracted and the yarns are in. Jerry Smith rejoined. Committee Reports: Membership: 37 members Sunshine: Cindy is sick. Website: No new information. Historian: no report Workshops: need suggestions. Several were suggested supplemental warps and Ikat. Helen is doing Ikat, maybe she can teach it. The instructor is Sigafoose. Programs: June, July, and August meetings will be at the James County Public Library April: wet felted bags. May: prepare cartoons for Theo Moorman or tapestry June: Theo Moorman with Janet November: clay buttons There will also be a spin in and perhaps Cindy can do one on sherrit Another possibility is show and tell from the rug workshop at the end of May Hospitality : May 2: Linda C. Last meeting we discussed getting a subscription to the new quarterly magazine, Ply. The Willliamsburg Farmers Market is the 1 st weekend in June, the 4 th. If you are going you should get there 7:30ish and bring a project you can work on. It will break up at 11 11:30. If it rains we will not go. Will send around a sign-up sheet in May.
