The above referenced IFB is hereby amended and clarified as follows: 1. What is the anticipated lead time from notification that "20" rooms are needed to the casework installation. IFB 034-0-2017LC 1. Selected by Architect from laminate manufacturer s full range (standard and premium lines) of product in standard textured finish (textured gloss, fine textured or suede finish). High gloss, heavy textured, metallic, or other special surface products (abrasion-resistant, chemical-resistant) will not be required for use in this project. 2. Attachment A has a column that says "FINISH - Oak" and a column that says "FINISH - ". Please explain. Are the doors and ends plastic laminate or oak? We are soliciting prices for 2 finishes. All cabinets will be either natural wood or plastic laminate covered. Provide pricing for all cabinets in both finishes 5. Attachment A has a bid line S.1 that asks for pricing for cabinet removal. Is this for additional removal? Isn't the price for removal included in the base price of the cabinet? Since the price sheet has a line item for removal, disregard verbal instructions given at pre-bid. There may arise a need to remove more than is being replaced or the cost to remove lead-based painted cabinets will be higher than those for non-lead-based painted cabinets. That being the case, separate costing of tear-out makes the most sense. We have a few questions regarding the construction of the counter tops and casework: 1. Are the particle board with plastic laminated top thickness to be ¾ thick with 1 built-up on the front edge? See response to question 2, item 1.2A. The intent is have the counter top overhang the front of the cabinet by 1 inch with the counter top thickness itself showing as 1.5 2. Are the tops to have a backing sheet underneath? See 1.2 I in question 2 above 3. Cannot find details for the cabinet construction. To be provided by manufacturer of cabinets a. What is the substrate material and thickness for the cabinets, door & drawer fronts? Per the specification that accompanied this IFB: 1.4 WOOD CABINETS FOR TRANSPARENT FINISH A. Grade: Premium, except as noted for drawer construction. B. AWI Type of Cabinet Construction: Flush overlay. C. Reveal Dimension: 1/2-inch (13 mm). D. Cabinet Door and Drawer Fronts: Provide flush panel door and drawer fronts unless indicated otherwise. 1. Flush panel door and drawer front. 2. Stile and rail door and drawer fronts. a. Flat Panels: wood veneer laminated to 1/4 inch] thick particleboard or fiberboard. b. Stiles, rails and mullions with square shoulders 3/4 inch thickness. E. Wood Species and Cut for Exposed Surfaces: White Oak, quarter sawn or sliced. Page 3 of 5

IFB 034-0-2017LC 1. Grain Direction: Vertically for drawer fronts, doors, and fixed panels. 2. Matching of Veneer Leaves: Book match. 3. Vertical Matching of Veneer Leaves: End match. 4. Veneer Matching within Panel Face: Running match. 5. Veneer Matching within Room: Provide cabinet veneers in each room or other space from a single flitch with doors, drawer fronts, and other surfaces matched in a sequenced set with continuous match where veneers are interrupted perpendicular to the grain. 6. Comply with veneer and other matching requirements indicated for blueprint-matched paneling. F. Semi-exposed Surfaces: Provide surface materials indicated below: 1. Surfaces Other Than Drawer Bodies: Same species and cut indicated for exposed surfaces. 2. Drawer Sides and Backs: Per AWI standard for Custom Grade, 1/2 inch minimum. Drawer Bottoms: Per AWI standard for Custom Grade, 1/2 inch minimum. G. Provide dust panels of 1/4-inch (6.4-mm) plywood or tempered hardboard above compartments and drawers, unless located directly under tops. b. What is the hardware type and construction for hinges, door and drawer pulls, coat hooks and catches? See Section 2.2 of the specification accompanying this bid. c. What are the shelving substrate material and thickness for the shelving, hutches and cubby s? Same as all other cabinetry in this IFB Ms. Cumming, I forgot to ask what is the type drawer suspension system required? See Section 2.2 of the specifications accompanying this IFB Good Afternoon.
