It s getting warmer and the Fremont Coin Club is kicking-off the warmer weather with our Spring BBQ on May 4th. The Board met on May 6th and here are some very important announcements : - May 4th Meeting (BBQ/Potluck) starts at 6:30pm: We will have a regular silver prize drawing for this meeting. - Regular Prize drawing has moved to right after the Break; the FCC board has discussed the ticket sales progress at our regular meetings and have decided to extend the current timing of the prize drawing after the break thru the June Meetings. - FCC Show Raffle Tickets now available for check-out: Please see Don Ehlers to check out your show raffle tickets. This is the major source of revenue for the club to sponsor all of the activities we do throughout the year. Each book earns the seller a copper medal. Two books earn the seller a free meal at the Installation Dinner in January. Please get your sold ticket stubs into Don as soon as possible Unsold tickets DO need to be turned-in as well, since we sell them at the door at the day of the show - National Coin Week held April 2st thru April 27th: The club had several exhibitors at the Bank of the West. Thanks to Briita Ehlers for coordinating this activity. And Thanks to the following exhibitors: Gary Acquistapace, Briita Ehlers, Don Ehlers, and Wanda Johnson. Pictures on Page #4. - Thank You to Stan Turrini - Counting US Talk on Apr 9th: Stan conducted an informal poll from meeting attendings of how they got into the hobby and what their interests are. Some interesting data was collected; See the Stats about our club membership on page #. - Please, no talking during the meeting: As a courtesy to those members who are interested in the regular meeting content, the board asks that attendees keep quiet while the meeting is in session. There is plenty of time to socialize and buy coins before the meeting, during the break, and after the meeting. - Donations to the Club!: the Board would like to recognize, Fremont Coin Gallery and Vince Lacariere for his continued support of the club and prize drawings. - Reminder, July Board meeting is on July st: this will be our last board meeting before the annual coin show, so we have lots to cover. Fremont Coin Club -- Double Eagle Newsletter -- May 202 April Meeting NoteS Regular membership meeting called to order 7:2pm. Attendance 34. The bubble drawing was not won Apr 8th 203 by member #889. Gary Acquistapace won the door prize. Announcements: President Caires asked the membership for someone to tend the grill at the upcoming BBQ pot luck meeting in May. Pres. Caires also share these upcoming events: 4/23/3 Super Auction; 4/2-27 National Coin Week + the exhibits the club sponsors at the Bank of the West. Lyle Okamoto has show coupons for the Santa Clara Expo show. Don Ehlers has books of tickets for the drawing at our annual Coin Show. This is our main fundraiser for the year. Each book earns the seller a copper medal. Two books earn the seller a free meal at the Installation Dinner in January. Chuck White has prize drawing tickets for the Vallejo show. Michael S. Turrini (ANA, NCNA) noted that he is working with Taylor Webb to man the youth table at the FCC coin show in July. After the Show & Tell, Michael Stan Turrini conduct his presentation About Us, which was a sort of a survey of the FCC membership. There were 29 participants from which record statistics and remarks were obtained. The survey concluded that their were,4 years of collecting experience among the group, and 448 club years. Most of the participants considered themselves collectors and/or hobbyists. Most started up with the hobby from between 6-2 years of age. After the program and a short break there was a prize drawing. Prize winners included: Mike Jordan, Aaron Houston, Mary Roja, Dennis Pagano, Don Barsi, and Mike Walsh. Bruce Caires conducted an auction of 20 lots, including two donation lots, with the help of Dennis Pagano, while Matthew Wren and Ram Sethi ran the items.. The meeting was adjourned at 9:40pm. 2

President Bruce Caires brought the meeting to order at 7:pm. The membership bubble drawing was NOT won by #086. Bruce Caires won the door prize and promptly donated it back to the club. Briita Ehlers provided a brief update on the club s National Coin Week exhibits at the Bank of the West near Lake Elizabeth. President Caires again asked for volunteers to man the BBQ pit for the club s upcoming Spring Potluck. Briita Ehlers announced that the club will be sending a Thinking of You card to long time FCC member & board member Bob Whitaker who has been ill w/ ALS.
