Monthly Alliance ARC Breakfast Is This Saturday The Alliance ARC breakfast for January is coming up this Saturday, February We do this on the first Saturday of each month. All are welcome to join us, whether a club member or not. A ham ticket is not required. We meet at 8:30 AM at Frank s Alliance Family Restaurant, 428 E. State St. AARC Meeting Announcement The February Meeting of the Alliance Amateur Radio Club is coming up on Wednesday, February 8 th. No speaker this month, but we do have lots to discuss. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Alliance Community Hospital. Normally, you can find us in the Cafe Conference room, which is just off the cafeteria. See you on the 8 th! Winter Field Day Report On January 28/29, members of the club participated in Winter Field Day. They set up indoors at the driving school location on Ely St. According to club president, Paul, K2ASA, over 20 Amateurs and family visited the site, and 11 Hams operated. It sounds like they had a great time. Tomas, KC8ZEH sent along lots of pictures, which I ll post elsewhere in this issue of the Zero Beat. (Continued on page 3)

Then he entertained questions. Secretary s report minutes are in the newsletter, no corrections to make this month. They were declared approved Treasury report, given by K2ASA as treasurer was not present. KD8BBK applied for tax i.d. number with the IRS, they got the info wrong, so it will take a few weeks to get it fixed, hopefully by next month we should be straightened out by next meeting. Old business: Christmas party went well, 20 or so there, every one won something Our meeting place. The guy called and said he s still open for us to use the building. Paul explained that we would have classes there and maybe winter field day We want to make sure the office is locked up. We d have to find out what time it s available on Tues. nights. Liaison who might help and we can set it up for Feb. meeting. There is also someone else who might be able to help it. We still need someone help organize with field day this summer. Winter field day, Loren and Sean want to have it, it is the last weekend of the month. We could possibly use the Driver s school. If we can get the building, let s go ahead and do it. N8WD and NX8G will be glad to help Hamfest Jan. 29 Tusco in Strasburg, 19th of Feb. Mansfield VE sessions, Paul is having difficulty finding them. Elyria is having one, but we don t have any info for mores Stark County s next one will be the 18th of Feb. This unit was on the air and operative when we picked it up. A $1500 dollar system. I am sure any reasonable offer would be entertained.
