Miss Alumni continued for page 1 is a two-time graduate of Texas Southern University, having obtained both her Bachelor with honors and Master of Science degrees in Biology. She is a NASA Center for Bio-Nanotechnology and Environmental Research (CBER) Cohort 1 Fellow Volunteer and an Environmental Toxicology Title III Fellow. Shaunté currently serves as secretary for the College of Science and Technology Alumni Association (COSTAA) Chapter, COSTAA Homecoming Committee Chair and was a 2012 Texas Southern University National Alumni Association Distinguished Chapter Alumni recipient. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Delta Gamma Alum. Shaunté lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, Ali Abdin III, and their three children, Markus, Shaun and Aarya.
