Looking Forward: Saskatchewan s Housing Markets Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Housing Outlook Conference Saskatchewan The economic recovery captivated our attention throughout 2010 and produced mixed results for Saskatchewan s housing markets. Housing starts significantly rebounded from 2009 s low, with strong year-over-year gains reported in both the single-detached and multi-family markets. While up slightly from the previous year, apartment vacancies in Saskatchewan s rental markets remained low in 2010, leading to additional gains in average rental rates. In contrast, transactions of resale homes in 2010 were relatively unchanged from the previous year, while an increase in active listings limited price growth to a few percentage points. What can housing market participants look forward to in the coming years? What will be the key factors shaping Saskatchewan s markets in 2011 and beyond? Join us on February 9 and you will leave confident about making informed and sound decisions to plan your business future. The housing industry trusts Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation () to deliver reliable, impartial, and up-to-date housing market information. At our annual Housing Outlook Conference, our team of economists and market analysts share their knowledge and examine the latest economic and housing market conditions. The conference will provide you with insights and outlooks for Canada, Saskatchewan, Regina, Saskatoon, and other markets. The 2011 event will also feature a presentation by Robert Bjerke, Director of the Planning and Sustainability Department at the City of Regina.
