Perlok Standard Roofing Fastener Designed to Secure Insulation and Roofing to Steel & Wood Decks u The PERLOK STANDARD ROOFING FASTENER is designed to secure insulation and roofing membrane to standard steel (18 ga. 24 ga.) and wood. It is available in lengths from 1 5/8 8. The PERLOK STANDARD ROOFING FASTENER is Factory Mutual and Dade County approved. Use with a PERLOK 3 steel plate. u The PERLOK STANDARD ROOFING FASTENER is designed to secure insulation and roofing membrane to steel and wood decks. u Heavier shank & thread diameters than most standard roofing fasteners. u Deep buttress thread for high pullout resistance. u Extra sharp spade point for quick installation in new or reroof applications. u Available with hex head or #3 phillips truss head. A special corrosion resistant CR coating exhibits less than 15% red rust after 30 Kesternich cycles. CR is a unique epoxy based coating specifically applied to optimize resistance to corrosion. This special coating exceeds F.M. Approval Standard 4470. The PERLOK STANDARD ROOFING FASTENER must penetrate steel decks a minimum of 3/4, wood plank decks a minimum of 1 and 1/2 through the underside for plywood decks. Using a screwshooter, drive the fastener until a slight depression is seen around the plate, or with very rigid insulation boards, watch for the plate to dimple. Note: Care must be taken not to overdrive the fastener and fracture the skin of the insulation. Fastener must be tight enough so that the plate doesn t turn. For steel decks, Factory Mutual requires that the fastener penetrate the deck at the top fl ute. To speed installation, this fastener is also available as a labor saving preassembled screw and plate. See PERLOK Preassembled screw and 3 steel plate. Product Information The data below is constant for each PERLOK STANDARD ROOFING FASTENER. Perlok Dual Fastener Roof Insulation and Membrane Fastener for Base Ply, Recover Board and Insulation u PERLOK DUAL FASTENER is a roof insulation and membrane fastener for base ply, recover board and insulation to wood fiber or poured gypsum decks. u Composition: Factory pre-assembled components consisting of: TUBE: Precision formed from Galvanized (G-90) coated steel to prevent corrosion. The tube is shaped to easily penetrate decking and exiting membranes. DISK: Precision formed from Galvalume (AZ-55) coated steel to prevent corrosion. The disk is securely clamped to the tube, 2.7 diameter, rib reinforced to resist cupping. LOCKING STAPLE: Precision formed from high tensile steel wire. Physical Data Available s 1.4 1.8 2.8 3.8 4.8 Packaging 1.4, 1.8, 2.8, and 3.8 PERLOK DUAL FASTENER 500 per Carton 4.8 PERLOK DUAL FASTENER 250 per Carton

Installation Method u Drive fastener perpendicular to roof deck seating cap flash with roofing surface. Once tube is set, drive the locking staple thru the tube/disk unit into the deck until the top of the staple is flush with the cap (see illustration). The PERLOK DUAL FASTENER should always be embedded into the structural roof deck to a depth of at least 1. u Operation: When locking staple is driven, its dual wire legs diverge anchoring the fastener in place (see illustration on first page). Uplift resistance may vary depending on the density and integrity of the substrate. u Field Testing: On-site withdrawal testing should always be performed to evaluate the ability of the roofing substrate to satisfactorily accept and retain fasteners. Such testing may alter fastener selection and modify applicable fastening patterns. u Fastening Patterns: PERLOK DUAL FASTENER density and spacing vary depending on applicable uplift requirements. Local codes, governing Approval bodies, Derbigum membranes, and individual roof deck manufacturers all may have specific requirements that need to be addressed prior to beginning any roofing project. The following illustrates typical Factory Mutual recommended fastening patterns accepted by DERBIGUM Americas, Inc. and roof deck manufacturers. Fastening Guide for Base Sheets The following base ply attachment meets FM Class 1-60, 1-75 or 1-90 Windstorm Classification. DERBIGUM GP/XPS, Derbibase Ultra, Derbibase, PRS Glass Base Sheet, or Glass Ply IV/VI is fastened in the field of the roof with PERLOK DUAL FASTENER installed 9 on center in the side laps and 18 on center staggered in 2 rows, equally spaced, between the base ply side laps. Approximately 86 fasteners per square (100 ft. 2 ). Fastening Guide for Recovery Board and Insulation The following fastening attachment meets FM Class 1-90 Windstorm Classification. Approved insulation boards listed in FM Global Approval Guide or Roofnav for use with Derbigum roof systems is fastened with 8 Perlok Dual Fasteners per 4 x 4 board in a diamond in a box pattern. (1 fastener per 2 ft. 2 ).
