CLEARING IT IS ESSENTIAL TO ACT FAST Vacancies for Clearing are advertised in the UK media and on UCAS These vacancies DISAPPEAR very fast You need to be flexible You need to bring your log in details to school with you on the 18 th August This year will be VERY competitive because of the increase in fees in 2012
What happens if? you exceed your offer: If your grades are HIGHER than your Firm Choice you MAY choose to enter Adjustment Adjustment allows you 5 days to keep your original offer but also look into other universities Universities have VERY FEW places in Adjustment so it requires a lot of thought
The Key to Success Work hard for your A Level examinations NOW Be organised Research your options This includes the boys entering the army It is VERY difficult to do resits while in the army Places in the UK will be cut in 2012 so competition will continue to be intense Wherever you apply, they will look at your A Level grades as an indication of your potential at university
Military Service Boys entering the army will be guided in THE SAME WAY by the School to complete their statements and applications BEFORE leaving school this summer: Boys should: research courses/universities prepare draft Personal Statements There is very little time as a soldier to do this preparation!
