Please feel free to ask all of your coaching business and marketing questions. Getting Started Basics Decide if you need to be incorporated or not. It is a personal choice. Prior to First Session Welcome Packet: (Welcome Letter, Intake Form, Life Balance Worksheet, and Values Worksheet) Client Agreement: (Contains Session Frequency, Session Lengths, Session Protocol, Contact Information, & Fees.) There are sample forms in the student area under Lesson 10.
The First Session Go over the Intake Package. Re-explain the coaching process. Scheduling and boundary issues. Phone or Skype call protocol. Discussion of action steps expected of client between sessions. Accountability and confidentiality. Get the client s agenda for coaching. Most coaches expect pre-payment prior to a coaching session. First Session Questions Tell me more about yourself What goal will we be focusing on? What have you done before now? What fears are you facing? What motivation are you feeling? What do you need most from me? What would success look like to you at the end of our coaching? Create A Marketing Plan If you want to accomplish a goal, then you need a target and a plan. You can t expect to hit a target that doesn t even exist. You must define success for you and pair it with a strategy. Your plan can be as short as one piece of paper.
Identify Your Why Why are you pursuing coaching, apart from earning money? Why is coaching a good fit for your personal gifts and talents? Why will you succeed as a coach? This information should tell you what you need to offer as a coach. Identify Your What What areas will you coach around? What needs will you address? What benefits will you provide? What coaching programs and services will you create? Keep in mind that your clients will buy through emotions, not facts. Identify Your Who List all of their details like age, sex, location, work or ministry, etc. List the needs they want met. List places where you can find these potential clients. This information should tell you what you need to offer as a coach. Identify Your How How will you word your web presence and marketing? How will clients find you? How will you sign up clients and deliver your coaching? Defining your Why, Who, What, and How will provide clear direction.
