RENEW YOUR BLUE MAX & AMA MEMBERSHIPS!! AMA CHARTER 1040 GOLD LEADERSHIP CLUB THE PRESIDENT S TRACK We had the Blue Max Summer Picnic on Sunday July 30th and the weather this year was perfect. We had about 60 people this year and it looked like everyone had a good time and had plenty to eat. Everyone walked away with a door prize. I would like to thank Bob Breckler, Gene Derbick and Carl Will for all the hard work they did to make the picnic a great success. We will be looking for some new volunteers to take over the picnic for next year. Steve Gelman did a fun fly for the picnic this year and we had 7 flyers compete, the results and prizes will be awarded at this months meeting. Our August Fun Fly should be on August 20th at 10:00am weather permitting. August 2017 Volume 24 Issue 8 MEETING MINUTES Page 2 by Murry Randell, Secretary July 17th, 2017 Meeting The July 17th, 2017. meeting of the Blue Max RC Flying Club was called to order at 7:00pm by President Steve Haas Welcome Guests Welcome New Members Around The Hangar President s Report President Steve Haas: meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Report Murry Randell: The minutes were accepted as published in the newsletter. Treasurer Report Jim Kaufman: stated club numbers Newsletter Report Bob Breckler: we are still looking for a Photographer, Send Photos from any events that you have attended this summer Webmaster Report Doug Bradbury: No Report. Committee Reports: Winter Banquet OPEN Field Marshal Jim Kaufman: New safety net was installed by Rich Blaha on the South fence, Thanks Rich. The windsock was installed by Jim Keehan. Thanks Jim (photo Bottom pg.3) Fun Fly Steve Gelman: 1. Steve Haas, 2. Ron Petterec, 3.Three way tie between Don Linder, Steve Gelman and Dan Deitemeyer Noise Shlomo Rimer: the noise is starting to pick up, but still quiet Picnic Carl Will/Bob Breckler/Gene Derbick: Picnic was a great event, see you next year. Leo Hanula advanced to intermediate Congratulations to both Program OPEN: Safety Don Linder: Drone pilots are to use the pilot stations and fly in a consistent manner with other aircraft.

August 2017 Volume 24 Issue 8 Page 3 Old Business Jim Keehan read a thank you note from the Fox Point Senior Center thanking the club for the Fly-In and Lunch. It was decided to have another event sometime in September New Business 1.) We need fire extinguishers and sand buckets at the field (extinguishers now there thanks Rich) 2.) The club will hold a pizza night on August 23rd. Fly in the afternoon and meet for pizza at Barnaby s on Rand Road afterwards. Crash Reports Bob Breckler/Steve Haas - Steve was helping with some issue with Bobs Mustang but the engine quit for the 4th time and he couldn't make it back to the field (wings gone but body is OK, will be back up..with a different motor). Ron Petterec/Murry Randell - lost orientation and crashed north of the field, plane is still out there Jim Keehan - dead stick - ended up in the pond, plane recovered FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS We are collecting non-perishable foods for a local food pantry. The food pantry we are donating to is Our Lady of Ransom/St Vincent de Paul. Please bring your donations to our monthly meetings. Thanks to Carl Will for delivering the Food to the Pantry. Thanks Jim!
