Note these long edges are on the bias; handle with care to avoid stretching. Press ST unit open and trim to measure 6-1/2 square. ake the following ST units: (2) B/ (1) G/ (3) T/ (2) / (3) V/ (1) C/ (1) K/ (1) I/ (2) R/ (1) S/ (1) J/ (1) O/ (1) P/ (1) U/ (1) A/ 2. To make the small ST units, draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of nine 3 squares. Layer a marked square right sides together with a 3 square. Sew 1/4 on both sides of the marked line, cut on the marked line, and press the units open. Trim to 2-1/2 square. ake 18 small STs. 3. Layer a marked square on an ST unit so the line is perpendicular to the ST seam line. Sew 1/4 on both sides of the marked line, cut on the marked line, and press the units open. Trim to 2-1/2 square. ake 4 corner sashing units. Note: Two will be mirror images. 4. Sew 6-1/2 square units and 2-1/2 x 6-1/2 sashing strips together into block rows and 2-1/2 sashing square units and 2-1/2 x 6-1/2 sashing strips into sashing rows. Add the abric setting triangles onto the ends of blocks rows as shown. Working from the longer middle rows out, sew the block and sashing rows together. 5.
