Intrductin The Jhn Deere Devices Mdule is an ptinal extra t the GateKeeper system which prvides Jhn Deere cmpatibility with GateKeeper. If applied n its wn, it will supprt basic dcumentatin, with the GS2 2600 and GS3 2630 displays. When applied t GateKeeper with the mapping mdule enabled, it will supprt mapping n the displays as well as dcumentatin. The GS2 1800 display is als cmpatible with GateKeeper but this cmpatibility is limited t integrating with yur Field, Prduct & Machine lists as well as Bundaries and Guidance thrugh the mapping mdule. Setup Linking GateKeeper crps with Jhn Deere The crps that are listed n yur GateKeeper Business list must be linked in with the Jhn Deere equivalent. Un-linked crps will nt be exprted t the displays. On the main GateKeeper screen, click n Setup>Crps and Varieties t bring up the Setup Crps and Varieties windw. The example belw assumes that crps have already been setup. 2. Once the crp is highlighted, there is the ptin t select a Jhn Deere Linked Crp. Tick the bx t activate and scrll dwn the list t find the equivalent crp. 1. Expand the Crp Grup nde and highlight the Crp name underneath. 3. GateKeepers Wheat Winter wuld equate t Jhn Deere s Wheat (Eur Wtr) fr example. Once linked, Save and OK ut f the screen. Annexe B at the rear f this guide cntains a list f GateKeeper crp names listed against the Jhn Deere equivalents fr cmparisn. Page 2 f 27

Tractr Units When exprting wrk plans t the 2600/2630 displays, it is pssible t exprt Machinery Settings frm GateKeeper which cnsist f the Tractr Unit settings. The Machine and Implement details n the displays require cmpletin and s string and exprting the settings frm GateKeeper will save time and maintain cntinuity. Nt nly is this imprtant fr traceability purpses but als fr the GPS receiver ffsets. This will be f particular imprtance if yu are mapping field bundaries with the tractr unit. Click n Setup>Tractr Units frm the GateKeeper main screen. Highlight the apprpriate tractr heading frm the Tree view and click Add. The name f the tractr unit, categry and reference will be shwn n the setup screen. Wrk thrugh the Definitin tab in cnjunctin with Annexe A (GPS receiver ffset diagram) at the rear f this guide. NB. Exprting a Wrk Plan t the 2600/2630 displays Data is exprted t the Jhn Deere Displays and imprted back t GateKeeper via a data strage device. In the case f the GS2 displays, the data strage device is an SD data card. GS3 displays stre the data n a USB stick. This guide will refer t bth f these as data strage devices. Wrk plans created and exprted t the displays fr cmpletin prvide the mst efficient and simple way f recrding field jb data back t GateKeeper. The wrk plan structure is maintained n the displays allwing the peratr t wrk thrugh the plan that was exprted. This allws the recrded data t be imprted back int GateKeeper in a recgnised frmat that ppulates the Field recrds, adjusts Stck and remains easily editable including calibrating Yield data. Wrk plans can be created n GateKeeper and exprted t the 2600/2630 displays fr cmpletin fr a range f peratins, including Drilling, Spreading, Spraying and Harvest. Field Grups, Prduct and Machinery Pick lists (including Tractr units, Implements and settings) can als be exprted t the displays. If a wrk plan has nt been exprted, the GateKeeper pick lists can be used t ppulate a Task that can be imprted int GateKeeper as a new Recrding n the Device Synchrnisatin screen. The wrk plans are exprted nt an SD data card which is inserted int the display unit. The wrked example that fllws will lk at the creatin and exprt f a cmbining wrk plan t the 2600/2630 displays and the cmpleted wrk plan s subsequent imprt back t GateKeeper. Creating a cmbining wrk plan Within the Planning mdule, create a wrk plan relevant fr the task, entering the Name f the plan and then adding a Field Operatins Jb. Yu can have many jbs within a single plan. We wuld recmmend that there shuld be ne crp type and ne farm per jb. Once yu have added the Field Operatins Jb, select the fields n the Field Selectr screen. On the Prduct Selectr screen, add the prduct frm the Primary Output heading fr the crp yu wish t harvest. Each separate plan will be viewed nce imprted Jb maps NOT t be saved - jb data such as field names, prducts, rates etc. will be imprted frm yur Device but any assciated map data will nt. This ptin is Off by default. Mve surce t archive after imprt - the data imprted frm the device is always cpied t an archive flder n yur hard-drive. With this ptin ticked the imprted data is als remved frm the surce data device thus clearing the card fr future use. Data can be re-imprted frm the archive flder if required. Clip jb plts t field bundary - any plts that fall utside the GateKeeper field bundary fr the selected year will be disregarded and therefre nt included in the prcessed map. This ptin is Off by default. Keep all ut f wrk plts - any plts that were recrded when the machine was ut f wrk e.g. travelling between fields will be included within the data fr the selected field. Aut find jb field by bundary - the data being imprted is checked t see if its plts fall within any field bundaries that exist within GateKeeper fr the selected business and year. If a match is fund then that field will autmatically be allcated t the relevant jb data in the Data t Imprt grid within the Imprt tab. This ptin is Off by default. Page 10 f 27

Histric yield maps imprt mde allws yu t imprt a yield map t a previusly recrded jb recrd withut quantities being affected. Wrk dne uses utstanding field area uses the field s riginal wrking area. If the recrding is nly fr part f the field, the applied rates will decrease as the field area is based upn riginal field area. Cnversely, recrdings that have an applied area greater than the riginal field area (e.g. Yield map including verlap) will have the rates increased as the applied area decreases t use the riginal field area. Imprt Prduct Matching Mde allws yu t ensure the crrect prducts are recrded by; Using the device (recrded) file prduct matched t the GateKeeper prduct by their name i.e. uses the prduct as recrded n the file. Destinatin (GateKeeper) jb prducts matched by their rder verride the device file prduct names i.e. if imprting the data int a GateKeeper Wrk Plan/Recrding, the prduct in the jb will be used. Use this single selected prduct i.e. switch the imprt prduct t ne frm the drp dwn list that appears when this ptin is activated. Jhn Deere AB lines updates any previusly stred guidance lines ensuring all are stred at the highest accuracy pssible Next, click n the Imprt tab. Select the path t the data using the selectr buttn at the end f the Path bx (the Path is the lcatin f the data n the data strage device). At the tp f the Device Synchrnisatin page, the D nt shw in the imprt grid ptins will prevent either Field Bundaries, Machinery Settings and/r Field Guidance data frm being displayed in the grid. Select as apprpriate. The Data T Imprt grid will list the data t be imprted alng with a summary f their cntents. This will assist in ensuring the crrect data is imprted. There may be ne than data file fr an individual field due t interrupted recrdings. Each data file will be clured and displayed in the Surce Device clumns. The Gatekeeper standard clurs are as fllws; Red - Operatin Jbs Green - Field Bundaries Orange (beige) - Field Features Yellw - Machinery Settings Blue Sampling Page 11 f 27

The Field Selectr will appear. Pick the field as required and click OK. NB If the bundary exists in GateKeeper, the imprt ptin Aut find jb field by bundary if ticked will match the Surce Device Field autmatically t a GateKeeper Destinatin Field. The clumns beneath the Surce Device heading are fr infrmatin nly (cannt be edited) and shw infrmatin abut the file created n the Cntrller Device. Click Imprt t imprt and prcess the selected data. If yu have ticked Preview imprted data then a Plan will be created and displayed enabling yu t view and make any changes befre saving. Once the selected data has been imprted it will be remved frm grid and/r mved t the archive flder if the tick ptin was selected. With the selected data imprted, OK ut f the Device Synchrnisatin screen back t the Device mdule hme page. With the device name highlighted in the tree view, the data that has been imprted frm that device will be displayed in the Operatins grid. Duble clicking in the grid will bring up the Planning Recrd Wrk Dne/Recrding Setup screen (depending n the mdule the data was imprted t) where the data can be viewed and edited if required. With the imprt prcess cmplete, a Green Primary Output entry will have been placed within the Fields mdule>operatins grid and als the Planning/Recrding mdule as applicable. Page 13 f 27

Viewing Imprted Variable Maps Once imprted, mapping data can be viewed thrugh either Field Recrds (under the peratins tab) r within the Planning/Recrding mdule (depending n hw it was imprted). The easiest way is thrugh Field recrds. Within the Fields mdule, brwse t and select the apprpriate field t be viewed frm the tree view. Click n the Operatins tab and then duble click n the Glbe symbl that will appear in the first clumn in the grid adjacent t the apprpriate jb entry that yu wish t view map data fr. An imprted Yield map displayed against the Primary Output recrding in Field recrds. Duble click n the Glbe symbl t bring up the Yield Map. Page 14 f 27

The Field Map screen will appear (see belw) 1. Click n the Jb Data icn t view the jb field list. All fields in the same jb will be viewable (ne advantage f imprting fields int the same plan) 2. Select the Displayed Jb Data type t be viewed n the map including Yield (as plts r cnturs), Relief, Misture and Dry Matter. Page 15 f 27

With the Field and Displayed Jb Data chsen, click n the Tls icn. Once the Tls icn is displayed, the Key fr the jb will be displayed. The key can be changed by selecting frm the drp dwn list. A Dynamic key will fit t the lwer and higher values that have been recrded fr the selected field i.e. 2.72 13.90 T/Ha. The number f bands indicates the numbers f clurs that will be used fr the key within the dynamic value range. Alternatively, yu are able t create yur wn key thrugh setup>mapping>keys By ticking the Display Data tick bx, yu can mve yur cursr t a pint n the field and the captured infrmatin (plt rate, implement width, misture, dry matter etc) will be displayed. The ther icn ptin n the left hand side f the mapping screen is the Visible Layers icn. Within the Visible Layers ptin, yu can select which layers are visible n the screen and in which rder. The layers include field bundaries, jb data (yield) and als zne grids (sil types etc). The Ggle Earth backdrp brwser can als be selected n as a visible layer. Page 16 f 27

Editing Imprted Jb Data Jhn Deere Devices Mdule After imprting a yield jb, it may be necessary t edit the plt data. This culd be due t spurius plt values (e.g. high values due t stnes hitting the mass flw sensr), header verlap (missing a small strip f the crp between nrmal passes) r even where the cmbine speed is slw r fast (headland r shrt wrk). When editing r filtering recrded plt data, the field ttals will remain the same. Plt filter templates can be created in rder fr certain filtering criteria t be applied t ne r mre yield maps. If the yield jb is t be the base fr a variable rate applicatin, filtering any unwanted plts will prevent a variable applicatin plan being based n inaccurate data. The grid generatr will lk t the yield data in the frm f grid cells as ppsed t plts. Filtering Plt Data The field selected fr this example has tw telegraph ples in the middle. Due t the cmbine ging arund the infield bstacles, it has resulted in header verlap and cnsequently the yield intake fr thse plts is lwer. If this data was used fr a variable applicatin as it is, these lw plt readings culd have an adverse bearing n the applicatin rate f the prduct when the grid generatr is applied. Enlarged sectin f the example field with the yield displayed in Actual Plts. The lw yield plts can be seen, shwing where the cmbine has navigated arund the telegraph ples. This has affected the cntur map, indicating areas r pr yield. The same area f the example field with the yield displayed as Filled Cnturs. Page 17 f 27

T filter the data: Once the Yield map has been imprted int GateKeeper, duble click n the jb entry within the Fields mdule peratin grid (the jb entry will have a glbe symbl indicating the presence f a map) t bring up either the Recrding/Planning Setup screen (depending n if the map was imprted via the recrding r Planning mdule). Once n the Recrd Wrk Dne screen, click n the Fields tab and Map sub-tab. The yield map will be displayed fr the first field within the jb. Yu will need t g back int the recrding setup f the yield jb t filter the plts. Click n the Map sub-tab n the Field page t bring up the map ptins. Click n the Filter Plts buttn t bring up the Filter Plts screen. Create a new filter by clicking Add Filter and prviding it with a relevant name. The example filter has been named Min-max and verlap discard. Wrk thrugh the page ticking the bxes t initialise the permissible criteria and entering any values where applicable (see screen sht verleaf). The fields t be filtered will be displayed n the left f the screen. Ensure they are highlighted blue t have the filters applied. Click n the Filter Plts buttn at the bttm f the page. This will then apply the filter t all f the plts fr the selected fields. If the resulting filter is nt crrect, click Use All Plts t restre the plts t their riginal recrded state. Page 18 f 27

Select t filter plts recrded utside f the field bundary and therefre nt attributed t this field. The Minimum /Maximum rate allw yu t filter ut abnrmally lw/high plts. The maximum plt verlap has been set at 1m. This will remve where the header has verlapped arund the telegraph ple greater than 1m. Highlight the fields t receive the filter Filter Plts buttn. When clicked, a message display infrming hw many plts have been filtered ut. The plts can als be filtered where the speed f the cmbine is either at a minimum r maximum speed, as can the change in speed.
