We recmmend using these pre-prgrammed settings fr a few days befre altering them as they ffer maximum energy saving benefits. If yu d decide t alter yur prgrams, use the charts n page 11 t write ut yur scheduled times and temperatures. After yu have recrded yur preferences, fllw the instructins n page 12 t alter yur temperature settings. There is n need t prgram the thermsat at the wall where it is munted! Remve the thermstat frm the backplate by gripping the sides firmly and pulling it straight ff. This allws yu t prgram the thermstat in cmfrt. After yu have prgrammed yur thermstat, n ther setting changes are necessary unless yu wish t brwse thrugh the menu t see hw yu may further adjust the independent settings f yur thermstat t meet yur lifestyle. Setup Setting Day, Time, and System 4 8 Once yu install the batteries, the thermstat will prmpt yu t set the current date, time, and system type. 1. 01 fr current day will be flashing. Use the r buttn t select yur current day, then t mve t mnth, and then year, until each is set. will advance yu t time setup. 2. Use the the r buttns t set the current time f day, AM r PM and then use t advance t hurs, and again t set minutes. Pressing again will advance yu t system setup. 3. Press [cnventl] r [heat pump] t select yur system type. Yu may als use the r buttns t make yur selectin. Nte: At anytime, if yu see the? icn n the screen, yu can press it fr mre infrmatin abut that setup, scheduling step, r menu ptin. 4. If yu selected [cnventl], select [gas/il] r [electric] as yur furnace type. Nte: Furnace type shuld be [electric] fr heat pump systems. 5. Press. Scheduling Scheduling Intrductin 5 Read the scheduling sectin thrughly t ensure yu understand yur scheduling ptins and which will best fit with yur lifestyle. The fllwing ntes shuld help yu with scheduling: * The schedule time can be set in 15 minute increments, and remains the same fr bth Heat and Cl prgrams. * The scheduled temperature can be set in increments f 1 F (1 C). * After 10 minute withut a key press, the thermstat will return t the hme display screen. * When setting the schedule time, nte the AM / PM indicatr. * At any stage during yur scheduling, yu can use the Back r buttns t mve / frward r backwards thrugh the steps. Dne will save any changes, even if yu have nt scheduled r altered all settings. * Arrws beside each schedule mde and beside heat/cl mdes will indicate which nes are active. * A [Brackets] arund a wrd in the message windw at the tp indicates it can be pressed as a buttn. * If the? shws up n the screen, pressing it will give yu mre infrmatin abut that step. 10 44040-01 03/24/2010

Scheduling Setting Yur 5 1. Press the Buttn t enter Scheduling mde. 2. Start by pressing the first day yu want t prgram n the day select screen. In this example we will use Mnday. 3. The thermstat will shw Mnday as the selected day. Chse the perid yu want t prgram first: Away, Asleep, r At hme n the screen. Away will be used fr this example. 4. Use the r buttns t adjust the start time n the left side f the screen fr the perid yu will be away and press. 5. Scheduling Setting Yur 5 6. Set the temperature fr yur heating cycle as indicated by the flashing Heat t icn n yur screen. Use the and buttns t change the temperature and press. 7. Yu will be asked t set yur cling cycle, indicated by the flashing Cl t. Set this temperature with yur r buttns and hit. 8. The thermstat will start this prcess again fr Asleep. Repeat steps 1-9 t schedule the time and set the temperature fr yur sleep perid. When finished pressed t get t At 9. When setting At, yu will nly be asked t set a temperature. The thermstat calculates yur At time by what remains unscheduled frm yur Away and Asleep perids. Set yur Heat T temperature first and press, then Set yur Cl T temp and press Dne T finish Scheduling yur current day. Nte: Yu d nt have t schedule all perids in rder. Scheduling Setting Yur 5 10. When yu have cmpleted scheduling yur day, yu will be returned t the cpy day screen. The cpy day screen will nw shw Cpy day t... and ask yu if yu wish t cpy the day yu just scheduled t any ther days. Select Cpy day t... and chse the days yu wish t add the schedule t. Press the buttn t ignre changes and return t the hme screen, r Dne t save changes and select a new day individually. 11. Select each day yu wish t cpy the schedule t by tuching it n the screen directly. The arrw indicatrs beside each day yu select will shw t indicate the day has been selected. In figure 12 yu will see Tue - Fri have been selected. Nte: The riginal day scheduled will nt shw n the screen as it is the ne being cpied. Yu may use a pen r ther small instrument t select the days if necessary. 12. Press Dne n the screen and it will flash Mn cppied t (days selected) and return yu t the day select screen t prgram anther day if any are left unprgrammed. Repeat steps 3-12 until all days are scheduled. Pressing at any time will return yu t the hme screen withut saving changes. Nte: Yu can press the the scheduling. Turn On Off at anytime while in Scheduling Mde t turn n r ff 13. Once all days are prgrammed, yu will be taken back t the Screen. Scheduling Temprary Temperature Change 5 With Temprary Temperature Change yu have the ability t alter the temperature fr nly the current running schedule fr ne day. 1. Press the r buttns t select a new temperature. 2. Press the Dne buttn t save changes. Nte: Temprary Temperature Change is nt a permanent setting. Yur thermstat will nly run the new temperature until the next scheduled perid change. After yur thermstat changes t a new schedule set, yur thermstat will resume yur existing schedule. 3. T escape Temprary Temperature Change, press the Resume buttn. Scheduling Turning Off Scheduling 5 T turn ff yur schedule and have the thermstat permanently set t ne temperature: 1. Press the buttn nce. 2. Press the Turn Off buttn. 3. The help banner will shw schedule ff - permanently hld temp at. Use the r buttns t adjust yur temperature and press Dne when finished. Nte: Yu will ntice the black bar n the screen beside the buttn is nt displayed anymre. This indicates, n schedule is set t run. Yu can see the difference between figure 1 and 3. 4. Frm the hme screen, use the r buttns t adjust yur temperature. The system will nw ignre all schedules and run at the temperature set by yu n the hme screen. 5. If at anytime yu wish t change the temperature, just use the r buttns. 6. Scheduling Save Away 5 The Save Away feature allws yu t save energy and mney while yu are away frm yur hme utside f yur nrmal Away schedule. This can include days yu will be away fr vacatin, r a few hurs away frm yur hme, while running errands fr example. The Save Away feature can be set fr as little as 1 hur r as much as 30 days. T set the save away feature: 1. Press the Away Save buttn. 2. Yu will see the number f hurs r days flashing n the screen, use the r t adjust the amunt f time yu will be away. Press the buttn t advance t yur temperature setting. Use the r t adjust the degrees up r dwn t the temperature yu want set fr this time perid. Nte: Up t 12 hurs can be set befre changing t day increments. 3. Press the Dne buttn t finish Save Away settings. The thermstat requires 2 (AA) batteries t perate. If yu d nt replace the batteries in a timely manner, the screen will g blank except fr the lw battery warning, (Figure 1b). Assuming yu have a stage 1 span f 2, see page 40 fr stage 1 span descriptin, a heating temperature f 68 O, and a cling temperature f 73 O, yur thermstat will activate heat at 67 O and run till 69 O and shut ff. If the temperature cntinues t rise up t 74 O, 1 O abve yur cling temperature, yur thermstat will switch t cling, run t 72 O and then shut dwn. Altering these schedules has a direct impact n the energy savings indicatr. Altering the temperatures and/r times that the schedules run culd decrease the estimated energy savings. 1.
