WOF= Width of Fabric LOF = Length of Fabric Blue Version Fabric A (2953P-11 Panel Blue): Fussy cut (1) panel, approximately 23 ½ x 42 ½. Fabric B (2956-77 Stars Blue), cut: See instructions to cut (15) stars. (4) 2 ½ x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonals seams, and cut (2) 2 ½ x 42 ½ strips and (2) 2 ½ x 27 ½ strips. (6) 2 ½ x WOF strips for the binding. Fabric C (2957-8 Circles White), cut: (3) 6 ½ x WOF strips, sub-cut (15) 6 ½ squares. (3) 2 x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 2 x 44 ½ strips. (2) 1 ½ x 28 ½ strips. Fabric D (1351-Red Just Color! Red), cut: (3) 1 ½ x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ½ x 46 ½ strips. (2) 1 ½ x 30 ½ strips. STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 4 of 7 Sewing Sew using a ¼ seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Always press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by the arrows. Block Assembly 1. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 42 ½ Fabric B strip to each side of the 23 ½ x 42 ½ Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 27 ½ Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the panel to 25 ½ x 44 ½ to make the center block (Fig. 1). 2. Sew (1) 2 x 44 ½ Fabric C strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 28 ½ Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 2). 3. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 46 ½ Fabric D strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 30 ½ Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 3). Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Fig. 3 4. Following the manufacturer s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. 5. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛ outside the drawn lines. 6. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines. 7. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press the (15) Fabric B stars onto the (15) 6 ½ Fabric C squares. [Use the (15) hearts for the Pink version of the quilt.]

Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to complete the (15) Star (or Heart) blocks (Fig. 4). make 15 Fig. 4 9. Sew (4) Star (or Heart) blocks and (4) 6 ½ Fabric E squares together, alternating them, to make (1) strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the center block (Fig. 5). Fig. 5 10. Sew (4) 6 ½ Fabric E blocks and (3) Star (or Heart) blocks together, alternating them, to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the top of the center block (Fig. 6).
STUDIO e PROJECTS Page 6 of 7 11. Sew (4) Star (or Heart) blocks and (3) 6 ½ Fabric E blocks together, alternating them, to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the bottom of the center block to make the quilt top (Fig. 6). Quilt Top Assembly 12. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 60 ½ Fabric F (Fabric D for the Pink version) strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 46 ½ Fabric F (Fabric D for the Pink version) to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 7). Fig. 6 Fig. 7 Layering, Quilting and Finishing 13. Press the quilt top and 54 x 72 backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete. Binding 14. Cut the ends of the (6) Fabric B binding strips at 45-degree angles and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together. 15. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.
