IIA INTERNATIONAL NEWS A Featured on Internationally Tel CNBC News Program Internal Auditing and IIA Featured on Internationally Televised CNBC News Program As the global voice of the profession, The IIA continues to advocate on behalf of the internal audit profession around the world. Last Tuesday, IIA President and CEO Richard Chambers appeared on CNBC s Worldwide Exchange, an international daily pre-market cable news program, featuring live broadcasts from the United States, Europe and Asia. Anchors in New York, London, and Singapore deliver in-depth analyses of trends that impact the international markets. Worldwide Exchange is CNBC networks' most distributed show, simultaneously available in more than 100 countries across the globe. 3
Chambers spoke about the very important work of internal auditors, the corporate governance practices that contributed to the financial crisis, and how internal auditing can play an important role in achieving better governance and risk oversight in the future. It was an unprecedented opportunity for The IIA s voice to be heard in so many places around the world at the same time, said Chambers. The fact that we were asked to be a guest on this program is proof that stakeholders everywhere are recognizing the value of internal auditing. CHAPTER ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM UPDATE As you may know, the CAP program is designed to recognize activities that promote the strategic objectives of The IIA. This program provides minimum standards of performance, emphasizes the basic mission of the Chapter, encourages Chapters to perform that mission, and provides Chapters with a means to evaluate their success in accomplishing that mission. So far, we have earned 1,355.45 points. We are almost there to remain in the PLATINUM status this year. Look for upcoming announcements on our Platinum status celebration event coming soon.
