Colour 2 Ready-to-use Duripanel Structura Multi-layer, hot-film acrylate coating with environmentally friendly pigments. Grainy, silkmatt surface. Reverse side with transparent sealing. The surface coating covers fully, and environmentally-friendly, UV-resistant colour pigments are used. Red P 305, Red P 304, Orange P 701, Yellow P 602, Yellow P 601, Beige P 803, Blue P 404, Blue P 205, Green P 504, Grey 203, Grey P 205, White P 205, Blue P 405, Grey P 207, Black P 001 Undercoat Front is finished with grey undercoat for final surface coating on site as required. The final coating should be weather and alkali resistant, and should have the necessary adhesion to the sub-surface. An acrylate-based dispersion paint with colour-fast inorganic pigments can be used, such as Disbocret 515 Concrete Paint (Disbon GmbH), StoColor Royal (Sto AG), or Algae Protection Paint 4055 (Rickert GmbH&Co). Duripanel Structura facade panels are certified for use as back-ventilated cladding on wooden sub-structures up to the limit for high-rise constructions ( No. Z-9.1-308) Duripanel Structura is as free from isocyanates and formaldehyde as natural wood. Resistant to moisture, frost and fungal attack - does not rot No chemical wood protective substances necessary Resistant to rodents and termites 2 See the most recent color chat for an illustration of the colours
(additional advantage for internal applications) Applications Large format facade panel on a wood sub-structure are certified for use as back-ventilated cladding, and can also be used as weather boarding on wooden support structures. Processing Data General: Duripanel Structura may be worked with the same tools as synthetic resin-bound chipboards. It can be sawn, drilled, milled, polished and planed. For economic reasons professionals should only use hard-tipped tools. Dust from working the panels contains no substances which might be health hazards. However, for reasons of work safety, dust extraction is important, and equipment should be rated to allow for the density of the dust. Fixings: The external wall cladding should be mounted with due care. Loads resulting from changes in shape should not cause damage at the connecting and fixing points. Best results are obtained with 6 mm drilled holes and Eternit Facade screws. The minimum spacing of the panel drilling is 25 or 80 mm. The wooden support structure must be protected in accordance with German standard DIN 68800, Parts 1, 2, 3 and 5. In order to avoid vertical wooden supports becoming water-logged, open joints near the wooden joists should have backing strips which do not allow the passage of water. Cutting: Hand sawing a hand saw with hardened teeth should be used Stationary sawing machines Duripanel Structura can be cut with vertical or horizontal sawing machines. - form cutters with moving tool - circular saws with contra-rotating, neutrally positioned tool Duripanel Structura panels can be cut both with contra-rotating and synchronous saw cutters (this means the feeding direction is identical with the rotating direction of the saw blade). Finishing centres with diamond-tipped tools for saw-cutting as well as planing represent a particularly economical solution. Electric circular hand saws with electronic speed control and dust collector. For the circular hand saws to produce clean cuts, they should be run along a support blade or gib. Positioning the saw on the rear side of the panel and the saw blade penetrating into it by not more than 5 mm will produce the cleanest chip-free cut, even with coated material, provided the other parameters such as saw blade, shape of saw-teeth and the cutting speed comply with instructions. Electric compass saws are particularly suited for curved cuts and adjusting work. We recommend compass saws with electronic controls, pendulum-lifting and dust-collector functions. Suitable saw blades have diamond-tipped saw-teeth, especially for long periods of operation. Cutting speed: The best cutting speed for Duripanel Structura is between 30 to 60 m/s. Drilling:
Any commercial electric hand drill can be used, preferably with electronic control and a good drill bit. Do not use the hammer drill function. Heavy-duty, hard-metal drill bits should be used for continuous operation. Health and safety considerations: Work on the panels produces dust which can irritate eyes and lungs. It is recommended that a dust mask and protective goggles are worn. When working in an enclosed space or using machines which produce large amounts of dust it is important that the dust is removed and that there is a supply of good air. Long-term exposure to the dust may result in health impairments. 10 Transport conditions The panels should be moved in stacks using a fork-lift truck or a crane. Individual panels should be moved vertically, and should not be set down on corners. Stacks should be transported under a waterproof cover. 11 Storage and handling Duripanel Structura should be stored and transported on a flat, dry surface which gives support over the entire area. Stack to a maximum height of 1.0 metre, preferably on the returnable palettes, or on dry wooden slats placed sufficiently close to avoid sagging. The panels should be covered, for example with a heavy-duty plastic sheeting, to protect against dampness, weather and dirt. The covering must remain in place at all times for stacked material. Individual panels should be stored on end with air circulation on both sides. If only one side of a panel dries out or becomes damp this can lead to warping. Store in a dry place protected from weather and on dry wooden slats. Sagging should be avoiding by including spacing slats in the stack where necessary. Panels should not be slid off the stack, but should be lifted. On site, the individual panels should be carried upright, and should not be set down on corners. Moisture: Stacked material should be covered with plastic sheeting or tarpaulin to protect against moisture and dust. The stack should remain covered at all times. Each panel should be lifted from the pile by two workers, removed without touching the other panels and then carried vertically. Duripanel Structura panels should always be carried upright. 12 Special comment Duripanel Structura with undercoat should be given the required final coating on site. 13 Commercial details Prices, delivery conditions, and delivery areas as specified by the supplier. 14 References A list of references can be requested from ETERNIT AG - Facade and Construction Sales - or accessed on the Website. 15 Specifications Detailed specifications can be requested from ETERNIT AG - Facade and Construction Sales - or accessed on the Website.
