Instructive Cultivation Plan for the Program of Image Design (Grade 2015) Program code: 620105 I. Cultivation Objectives The program of Image Design aims to cultivate application-oriented technical talents who develop morally, intelligently, physically and aesthetically, have good professional quality, necessary professional basic knowledge and proficient professional skills, meet the demands of regional economic development in Shanghai focusing on the modern service industry, and have certain theoretical basis and professional knowledge, high professional skill level and comprehensive quality. They mainly work in image design organizations, life cosmetic organizations and other organizations related to fashion and cosmetic industry as image consultants, dressers, beauty advisors, beauty technicians, administrative assistants, etc. II. Cultivation Requirements (I) Ability Requirement of Vocational Posts 1. Have the ability of cosmetic image design and make-up, hairstyle design, costume design and selection; 2. Have the ability to select beauty care, use cosmetics, perform nursing procedures and make nursing plans; 3. Have the ability to provide customer services, conduct professional image design and offer consultation of beauty care; 4. Have certain abilities to analyze and solve practical problems in image design and beauty care; 5. Have certain abilities of image design appreciation, aesthetic creativity and professional skill innovation; 6. Have strong team spirit and be able to complete relevant tasks with others harmoniously and cooperatively. (II) Knowledge Requirement of Vocational Posts 1. Have certain knowledge of humanistic and social sciences and natural sciences; 2. Have certain fundamental knowledge of English, computer and law; 3. Master basic theories and relevant knowledge about aesthetics; 4. Master basic theories and relevant knowledge about color style diagnosis of image design, making-up, hairstyle design, dressing matching and overall design; 5. Master basic theories and relevant knowledge about cosmetic anatomy, cosmetic dermatology,

cosmetic nutrition, beauty products, traditional Chinese medical beauty, the category and process of beauty care and beauty consultation; 6. Master knowledge about business operation such as modern management, marketing, service etiquette and consumer psychology. (III) Qualification Certificate Requirement 1. Level I Certificate of Computer Application Knowledge and Application Ability for non-computer majors of Shanghai regular institutions of higher education. 2. Shanghai Higher Vocational College English (PET) Level III Certificate. 3. National Beautician Qualification Level IV (Intermediate) Certificate. 4. Optional certificates: CET-4 Certificate; CET-6 Certificate; National Beautician Qualification Level III (Advanced) Certificate; National Dresser Qualification Level IV (Intermediate) Certificate; Color Coordinator Certificate. (IV) Occupational Scope of the Program 1. Professional technical and administrative personnel in the fashion industry: dresser, color consultant, image consultant, and staff in administrative/human resource/market departments. 2. Professional technical and administrative personnel in the beauty industry: beauty technician, beauty consultant, and staff in administrative/human resource/market departments. 3. Establishment and operation of personal studios. III. Schooling System Three years. IV. Length of Study The length of study is flexible, generally three years; the flexible range is two to five years. V. Graduation The students are required to achieve the minimum credits of different course categories in accordance with the cultivation plans and complete corresponding extracurricular requirements. The minimum requirement on total credits for graduation is 105 credits. VI. Core Specialized s 1. Daily Image Design 48 Hours

This course introduces theories and skills related to individual image design with relative case presentation and analysis. It aims to enable students to master the methods of image style analysis and figure color analysis, and the methods of matching personal image style and color with costume, accessory, makeover and hairstyle design. 2. Structural Modification of Clothing Design 64 Hours Based on garment draping, this course enables students to know the concept, basis and creativity of overall clothing design, use three dimensional thinking and techniques to produce basic models of various clothing, master certain basic techniques of draping and practice modification design of clothing on mannequins. Besides, it cultivates students to combine the draping sense of space and innovation with models, change from skill acquisition to artistic mastery in the production process, have divergent thinking, integrate the connotation of design into techniques by using hands and brain simultaneously, and finally create a series of clothing with independent innovative design. 3. Training and Expression of Creative Design Thinking 64 Hours Training and Expression of Creative Design Thinking is a compulsory course of the Image Design program. In the field of art and design, it seeks for design ideas with innovative thinking and explores new methods of design expression from multiple perspectives for the purpose of design creativity. It aims to cultivate students who have more artistic creativity and imagination in design thinking, and learn to integrate the creative elements into image design in the studying process of this course. 4. Beauty Care Technique (Elementary) 72 Hours By studying professional theoretic knowledge and training the operating skills in this course, students can know health and safety knowledge of the beauty industry, basic knowledge of beauty products, and knowledge about the setting principle of facial care process; master the work stands for service reception and guidance, basic facial care, facial care with hard masks, facial care with collagen masks, head, shoulder and neck care, and the use specification for basic beauty equipment like Ozone steamers and magnifying lamps. Besides, by combining the practical links in and outside of the campus, it enables students to obtain knowledge and skills matching primary technical posts on the basis of objective cognition of beauty care enterprises. 5. Beauty Care Technique (Intermediate) 72 Hours By studying professional theoretic knowledge and training the operating skills in this course, students can know the work specifications of beauty care advisors, master operation specifications of reservation and reception of beauty care services and soft-mask facial care, use specifications of basic beauty equipment like vacuum sipping instrument and electric ion instrument, and the operation procedures of basic fingernail decoration such as manicure and fingernail painting. Besides, students can meet the skill testing requirements of National Beautician Qualification

Level IV (Intermediate) Certificate. 6. Beauty Care Technique (Advanced) 144 Hours By studying professional theoretic knowledge and training the operating skills in this course, students can master knowledge about the consultation and reception of beauty care services, body spa, weight losing and shaping, have basic abilities to make nursing plans and implement nursing operations for general skin, problematic skin (acne, stain, aging and sensitivity), body spa, weight losing and shaping, and master the usage and maintenance knowledge and skills of Falidy body slimming instrument. On this basis, by consolidating the knowledge and skills through practice in and outside of the campus, students can reach the level equivalent to professional skill testing requirements of National Beautician Qualification Level III (Advanced) Certificate. 7. Daily Makeup 72 Hours Daily makeup service has a wide market and practical functions, and is also a fundamental technical skill required by dressers. According to professional skill testing requirements of national junior and intermediate dressers, this course contains basic makeup skills and relevant theoretic knowledge, teaches partial and corrective makeup techniques, and makes students familiar with properties and usages of makeup products and tools. By studying daily makeup, students can master basic skills of office makeup, living fashion makeup, bride makeup and banquet makeup, and have the ability to undertake daily makeup projects independently. With practical instruction contents and clear criteria, this course provides technical foundation and support for students social practice. 8. Fashion Makeup 72 Hours Based on the course of Daily Makeup, Fashion Makeup aims to cultivate students creativity, deepen their technical mastery degree, and make them meet technical requirements of makeup styling in the entertainment industry. According to the professional skill testing requirements of advanced dressers, it makes students master model, photographic, European, aging, skeleton and muscle makeup and styling, and emphasizes training of basic skills. While strengthening the makeup skills and abilities of students, this course enables them to undertake social entertainment activities, and deepens their understanding of daily makeup. This course also integrates contents of cosmetic and wearable art in basic courses, enables students to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned into practice, strengthens their learning and thinking abilities, and deepens the cultivation of professional quality. 9. Creative Makeup 48 Hours Makeup style with characteristics of the times and art taste is a higher demand of self-imagedesign which women pursue nowadays on daily makeup. It is an important content for graduates to start a business, and is evidently reflected in professional skill testing requirements. By teaching

makeup styles of Tang dynasty, empresses and imperial concubines in Qing dynasty and fair ladies in the Republic of China, this course enables students to have basic skills of ancient style makeup and hairstyle. Also, this course includes classic jewelry knowledge, and contents of designing and making accessories and hairstyle tools with era characteristics. It aims to enhance students modeling ability and innovation ability, lays a foundation for graduates to open distinctive studios of makeup and photography, and enables them to obtain the qualification certificate of advanced dresser. 10. Professional Hairdressing 72 Hours This course enables students to know the service procedure of hairdressing, general knowledge of hair, head skeleton, muscle and skin, technical operation procedures and operations of hairdressing, master a variety of up-doing and braiding hairstyles and operating techniques, and be capable of making modern and classical hairstyles according to different characteristics of the head, face and body forms at different ages. 11. Overall Style Design 144 Hours This course synthesizes a number of techniques and skills including makeup, hairdressing, clothing, body painting, manicure and photography, provides practice of overall style design and production of clothing, accessories and makeup. According to the requirements of industrial competitions, it introduces overall creative style design and production of movie, stage, and photography projects. VII.
