Brad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102 Use Student Entrance n Lenfest Plaza / Cherry Street MATERIALS LIST Wrking frm still life, figures, drawings, and imaginatin, examine the full range f painting materials used by artists frm the Pre-Renaissance t the present day. With an emphasis n cmpatibility, and permanence, students will wrk in several traditinal underpainting techniques, experiment with a variety f layering methds by glazing and scumbling, and explre wet-int-wet and alla prima painting. Examples f artist s palettes, develpment f clrs and mediums, and the prs and cns f mass-prduced art materials are cvered. Care and maintenance f supplies, varnishes, framing, installing, strage strategies, and health issues are discussed. We will visit the PAFA Museum and Vaults. There will be ptinal trips t NY galleries and museums, and the Philadelphia Museum f Art. Open t all levels. Actual examples f materials: Linen and cttn canvas, varius wd, metal, and plastic panels, vellum and parchment, mylar, tyvek, rabbit skin glue, acrylic and PVA sizes, il and acrylic grunds, traditinal gess, and ther nn-traditinal materials available t artists.
