General recommendations and important information Dearest costumer! Congratulations! You have just purchased an approved product of sauna! We wish you smooth installation and pleasing use of the product. Before starting with the installation please be so kind and carefully get through following tips. 1. Before operating please read this manual thoroughly. 2. Check with the help of the packing list if the product package includes all the details. The list will also help you to identify all details and to adjust the position of construction girders, slats etc. 3. Do not store the wooden details on damp or muddy ground; the wooden surface will be difficult, if not impossible to clean. 4. The product package includes a lot of nails and screws of different length. Please use devices for fastening referred in the manual, or other devices you would regard as reasonable and required. Information about wood used for constructing Wood is a natural construction material. Before processing, timber would be dried up to 18 % of residual moisture content. Timber s moisture content can change because of different atmospheric conditions such as rain, freezing cold or heat, causing wood structure altering. It could also affect the use of doors and windows. We give you some crucial features as following: 1. Wood can crack a bit during the drying process. It does not mean worsen quality, so the guarantee is not valid. When the humidness increases, chaps will disappear. 2. A couple of weeks after the construction work, wooden details will undergo adaptation for new conditions. If necessary, the door has to be f ixed once more. Ultraviolet rays (solar rays) can cause the change of wood colouring. Air circulation For the best function of your heater and f irm air circulation, the air approach needs to be assured from side. (Figures 1, 2 and 3) Schematic air circulation (Cross-section of sauna s groundwork) Figure 1 Heater ± 0.00 Concrete base, grit or paving Air pipe has been installed into groundwork. Diameter 15 cm 3

Groundwork Properly constructed base is essential, considering durability and functionality of your sauna. Groundwork should be built according to f igures 2 and 3 below. Tools You will need following tools for installation work: backsaw, screwdriver, stepladder, measuring tape, square, spirit level, drill/battery screwdriver, carpet knife, pincers, steel hammer or rubber mallet. 4

Start with installation 1. Bottom details Take six bottom details (No 1) and set them on the ground as shown on picture. Fix all corners with two 5 x 80 woodscrews (Picture 2). Check after f ixing the bottom boards if the diagonal lines are even! Picture 1 Picture 2 2. Installation of walls Fix the walls onto bottom details (Picture 3). Give special attention to all corners gaining the same altitude. Fix every corner with six 5 x 80 woodscrews (Picture 5). 3.2 Figure 1 Pay attention, two wall details have budged strips for installing partition (Figure 4). 3.1 2 4 Figure 4 Picture 3 Picture 4 Wall details must reach over the edge of bottom boards (Picture 4). Picture 5 Wall details should be f ixed to each other with woodscrews from outside! Every corner requires six screws altogether (Picture 5). 12

Finally, the door detail will be settled in the indicated position! 3. Preparing outside corner details You need outside corner details (No 5) and roof supports (No 6) for this particular installation task. Fix the roof supports to outside corner detail (Picture 8). Use 5 x 80 woodscrews. No. 6 No. 5 Picture 7 Picture 8 Picture 9 Put the upper edges of roof support to the same line with outside corner detail from outside. Fix them with 5 x 80 woodscrews (Picture 8). You have to prepare similarly eight outside corners altogether. (Picture 7) 4. Fixing outside corner details Now f ix outside corner details (Picture 7), prepared during the installation step No 3, to wall beams with screws from outside (Figure 6). Wall detail Attention! The outside corner which will be installed in the corner aside the wall, should be f ixed temporarily with two screws. Later on, when the partition has been installed, it should be fastened properly. Lift the roof support belt up to wall s uppermost log (Picture 14). Before f ixing it with screws, the edge should be straightened properly (Picture 15). Ensure that the belt s edges will be on the same line with wall detail from inside (Pictures 15, 16). Picture 14 Picture 15 Picture 17 First install all roof support belts up to wall s uppermost log, straighten the position and f ix with one 5 x 80 woodscrew per corner (Picture 17). (Picture 18) 14 Picture 16 Fix roof support belts with four 5 x 80 woodscrews to wall/corner slat from every corner (Picture 16 and Figure 7). Roof support belt Figure 7

6. Installing roof details You need 3 or 4 people for installation of roof details. Put the stepladder inside the house; 1-2 people can stand on it and hold roof details in necessary position. (Pictures 23, 24) First, install roof detail left from the door and go on with installation clockwise. Roof details will be f ixed with screws to roof support belts from below (Figure 8, Picture 20). Use three 5 x 80 screws for f ixing each roof detail. Fastening spots should be within equal distances along the wall. Fix roof detail with screws to roof support belt from below (Figure 8, Picture 20). Three 5 x 80 screws will be needed Figure 8 Picture 19 Attention! Ensure that the edge of roof detail will be exactly in the groove (Picture 19, Figure 8). Picture 20 When three roof details have been placed (Picture 24), they will be f ixed with screws to each other from inside as well (Picture 22). 5 x 80 screws for fastening should be placed at equal distances from each other (Picture 21). Installation of winterised inner roof When the roof details (details No 11 and No 12) have been set into position, the details of winterised inner roof (details No 11A and No 12A; Figures 9 and 10) will be installed. The details of winterised inner roof should be placed with lower edge onto bottom detail and fastened with three 35 x 30 screws from every side and one screw from lower edge, thus 7 screws altogether (Figure 9, Pictures 26-28). Roof detail No 11 (5 pcs) Winterised inner roof detail No 11A (5 pcs) Figure 9 Picture 26 Picture 27 Picture 28 Winterised inner roof detail with door opening (No 12A) should be f irst f ixed with three 35 x 30 screws from sides and around the door opening from below from corners, then sides and f inally in the middle of opening (from above), thus 11 screws altogether (Figure 10). If you have electric heater in your sauna, covered pipe detail should be installed next (look at page 25, section 20). After that install the winterised fan roof (section 8). 8. Installation of winterised fan roof When the winterised inner roof details have been set into position, the detail of winterised fan roof will be fastened to them (detail No 10, with wood-heater only, and 10A, with electric heater only; Picture 29, Figures 11, 11B). The fan roof will be fastened with 6 x 80 screws from corners. After that the support slats for winterised fan roof (No 37A, Figure 11A, Picture 77) should be fastened with 35 x 30 screws, two screws per slat, thus 12 screws altogether. 28. Colouring and impregnation / Avoiding mouldering Timber is a part of the ecological circulation. Nowadays the circulation has been suspended because of using timber as constructing material. For that reason we have a task to protect wood and take care of recycling it for further treatment. This means the defence against impairments inflicted by moisture and solar rays, also the defence against biological damages (mildewing, moulding and rotting). You will have much more pleasure of your sauna, when you impregnate its wood with impregnation liquids. For the longer lifespan of the house, you should primarily impregnate its floor. Use only environmentally approved products in your garden. In that way you will avoid damaging soil, plants or environment. For the best durability of wooden details we recommend you to impregnate timber as following: Impregnating coat for conifers Wood glaze Impregnation Follow-up treatment Use impregnating coat for conifers when you treat timber for the first time, to protect wooden details against weather conditions, rotting, pests and moulding. All available wood glazes, also thick ones, can be used for the house. Follow exactly the general instructions on jar label about drying period, cleaning the tools etc. Depending on location, impregnation should be repeated every three to four years. Detailed information will be available in our special stores. All dimensions are approximate. Small differences or manufacturer changes could occur. Technical changes and mistakes can occur. 34
