Fabric Requirements 3/4 yard Tapestry-C4185 Turquoise 1 1 4 yards Spring-C9497 Ivory 3 yards Spring-C9497 Breeze 2 1 8 yards Tapestry-CM4184 Peacock 1 yard Tapestry-CM4182 Spruce 2/3 yard Tapestry-C4186 Purple (binding) 5 1 2 yards Tapestry-CM4182 Spruce (backing) 77" x 95" batting Cutting From Tapestry-C4185 Turquoise: Fussy-cut twelve 6 1 2 " squares, each centered on a flower grouping. From Spring-C9497 Ivory: Cut twelve 3 1 2 " x width-of-fabric (WOF) strips. Sub-cut 144 3 1 2 " squares. From Spring-C9497 Breeze: Cut forty-eight Template 1 triangles. Cut forty-eight Template 3 triangles. Cut four 3 1 2 " x WOF strips. Sub-cut forty-eight 3 1 2 " squares. Cut four 2 1 2 " x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut two 2 1 2 " x 72 1 2 " strips. Cut three 2 1 2" x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut two 2 1 2 " x 58 1 2 " strips. Cut four 6 7 8 " x WOF strips. Sub-cut twenty-four 6 7 8 " squares. From Tapestry-CM4184 Peacock: Cut four 6 7 8 " x WOF strips. Sub-cut twenty-four 6 7 8 " squares. Cut four 5 1 2 " x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut two 5 1 2" x 76 1 2" strips. Cut four 5 1 2 " x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut two 5 1 2 " x 68 1 2 " strips. From Tapestry-CM4182 Spruce: Cut forty-eight Template 2 triangles. From Tapestry-C4186 Purple: Cut eight 2 1 2" x WOF binding strips. Block Construction 1. With right sides together, place a 6 7 8 " C9497 Breeze square on top of a 6 7 8" CM4184 Peacock square. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square. Sew 1/4" away from each side of the drawn diagonal line. (figure 1) Cut the two squares apart on fig. 1 the drawn diagonal line (figure 2) to make two Peacock/Breeze units. (figure 3) Trim blocks to measure 6 1 2 " square. 2. With right sides together, fig. 2 place a 3 1 fig. 3-Make 48. 2" C9497 Ivory square on the top-left corner of a Peacock/ Breeze unit. (figure 4) Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper-right corner to the lower-left corner. Flip open the fig. 4 fig. 5 triangle formed and press. (figure 5) Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam. 3. Following the seam direction shown in figure 6, add a 3 1 2 " C9497 Breeze square to the lower-right corner of the Peacock/ Breeze unit to make one corner unit. (figure 7) 4. Repeat steps 1-3 to make a total of forty-eight corner units. 5. With right sides together and aligning the left sides, place a C9497 Breeze Template 1 triangle on top of a CM4182 Spruce Template 2 triangle. (figure 8) Sew the two triangles together along the left side. Press the smaller triangle open. 6. With right sides together and aligning the right sides, place a C9497 Breeze Template 3 triangle on top of the CM4182 Spruce Template 2 triangle. (figure 9) Sew the two triangles together along the right side. Press the smaller triangle open to make one Breeze/Spruce unit. (figure 10) Being careful to maintain a 1/4" seam allowance beyond the apex of the C4182 Spruce triangle, trim the unit to measure 6 1 2 " square. 7. Repeat steps 5-6 to make a total of forty-eight Breeze/Spruce units. 8. With right sides together, place a 3 1 2" C9497 Ivory square on the top-left corner of a Breeze/Spruce unit. (figure 11) Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper-right corner to the lower-left corner. Flip open the triangle formed and press. (figure 12) Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam. 9. Following the seam direction shown in figure 13, add a 3 1 2 " C9497 Ivory square to the upper-right corner of the Breeze/Spruce unit to make one side unit. (figure 14) fig. 6 fig. 7-Make 48. 10. Repeat steps 8-9 to make a total of forty-eight side units. 11. Arrange four side units, four corner units and one 6 1 2" C4185 Turquoise square in three rows as shown in figure 15. Sew the units in each row together; then sew the rows together to make one block. Repeat to make a total of twelve blocks. Quilt Top Assembly Refer to the Quilt Assembly Diagram. 12. Sew three blocks together to make one row. Repeat to make a total of four rows. 13. Sew the four rows together to make the quilt top. 14. Sew one 2 1 2" x 72 1 2" C9497 Breeze strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 1 2 " x 58 1 2 " C9497 Breeze strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the quilt top. 15. Sew one 5 1 2 " x 76 1 2 " CM4184 Peacock strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 5 1 2 " x 68 1 2 " CM4184 Peacock strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the quilt top. Finishing 16. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing and quilt as desired. 17. Stitch the binding strips together end to end using diagonal seams. Fold and press the resulting long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Stitch to the quilt front, matching raw edges and mitering the corners. 18.
