Cntext: It is the furth quarter f the schl year, and all f the flwers utside are blming - a perfect time t wrk with clr and nature! The unit leading up t this ne fcused n value, s the natural next step is t add clr in establishing light and dark, warm and cl hues f clr. II. Theme and General Descriptin: The theme is nature, clr, and perspective. III. Gal(s): 1. Intrduce students t Gergia O Keeffe and her artwrk. 2. Incrprate use f scale and clr t create an riginal abstract artwrk. IV. Objectives(s): 1. Students will be able t discuss elements and principles f design in their wn artwrk and Gergia O Keeffe s artwrk. 2. Students will be able t use scale and clr t explre abstract ideas thrugh art making. 3. Students will be able t identify the difference between cl and warm clr schemes. 4. Students will be able t understand the inspiratin behind her artwrk. V. If the student has fine mtr skill prblems, a different way t apply the glue (like with a paintbrush) shuld be available as well. Step- by- step directins 1. Put yur name n the back f the paper. 2. Observe the flwer yu have chsen t abstract and find yur favrite part f it. 3. Keeping balance and scale in mind, draw that sectin f the flwer yu chse, making sure t tuch at all fur edges f the paper. Draw big! 4. Trace all f yu pencil lines with the black glue. Think abut hw thick r thin yu want yur lines t be. D yu want them t start thin and get thicker? Start thick and get thinner? 5. After letting yur picture dry cmpletely, take waterclrs (ne clr r mre?) and, starting at the fcal pint f yur piece, blck in clr in each sectin (marked ut by the black glue utline). Pay attentin t warm and cl clrs, clr value, and intensity. D yu want darker clrs t be at the fcal pint slwly getting lighter? D yu want them light slwly getting darker? Mre intense t less intense r vice versa? 6. When yu are dne, ask ne f the instructrs t spray fix yur drawing. 7.
