Knitted Knockers are breast prostheses for mastectomy patients. They are knitted in the shape of a breast and can include nipples because some women prefer perky breasts, according to the pattern, which takes 2-3 hours to complete. Instead of heavy, hot and expensive silicone prostheses, many women prefer these lightweight, washable and soft knitted ones. Leftover yarn can be used for the knockers. Cotton or soft wool is best; acrylics should be avoided. The free pattern is available at Always In Stitches, and if you ll bring in your knockers never thought we d write that in a newsletter! we ll ship them to a cancer center, where and all joking ends here they will make a real difference in some woman s life.
