Designed by Gloria Stengel Graphic 45 Supplies: 1 sheet August Cut Apart (#4501043) 1 sheet August Flourish (#4501044) 1 each 6x6 Patterns & Solids Pad (#4501053) 1 2 pack Ephemera Cards *1 for each month (#4501063) 1 pack Cling Stamp 3 (#IC0325S) 1 each Mixed Media Kraft Album (#4501024) 1 each Ornate Metal Key Hole (#4500546) 2 each Ornate Metal Keys (#4500545) Optional Supplies for Folders and Pockets: 1 sheet January Flourish (#4501030) 1 sheet February Flourish (#4501032) 1 sheet March Cut Apart (#4501033) 1 sheet March Flourish (#4501034) 1 sheet June Cut Apart (#4501039) 1 sheet Decorative Stickers (#4501061) Additional Supplies: 2 pieces ivory cardstock cut to 6 1 2 x6" 12 pieces ivory cardstock cut to 4 1 2 x6" 1 piece dark brown cardstock cut to 4"x4" 1 yard ivory seam binding 1 yard ivory twine 2 each mini brads Tools, Adhesives & Ink: Paper trimmer, scissors, scoring tool/bone folder, foam dimensional adhesive, strong quick dry glue, tape runner, distressing inks and a decorative corner punch (optional). Directions: *All measurements are length x width. 1. From the 6"x6" Patterns and Solids Pad cut 16 squares of various prints, 2"x2" each. Cut four (4) strips of printed paper 1 2 x2". Distress the edges and sponge with distress ink. pg 1 of 7

2. Create a patchwork pattern on the front cover of the Kraft Mixed Media album by arranging the printed squares in rows of four. Create two rows of 2"x2" inch squares, and then add the row of 1 2 x2" strips. Add the remaining eight squares to the cover as shown. 3. From the Time to Flourish August Cut Apart sheet, trim out the Keep your Face to the Sunshine border and the Sunflower journaling block. (Make sure to reserve a 83 4 x61 4 piece of the reverse print for the back cover of the album.) 4. Tuck a length of ivory seam binding around the edges of the album, covering the 1 2 x2" strips of paper. Mat the sunflower journaling block with dark brown cardstock. Attach the journaling block to the center of the album cover with foam dimensional adhesive. 5. From the August Flourish sheet, fussy-cut several flowers and leaves. Add the fussy-cut flowers and leaves to the journaling block with foam adhesive. Trim a section of the sunshine border and add to the right of the flowers with foam adhesive. 6. Add an Ornate Metal Key Hole to the right edge of the journaling block. Make sure to add mini brads as shown. Tie a loopy bow from ivory seam binding and glue to the right edge of the journaling block. *To tie a loopy bow: Wrap a length of ribbon or twine several times around three fingers. Slide the ribbon off your fingers, pinching the ribbon in the middle. Tie a separate length of ribbon or twine around the pinched area of the looped ribbon or twine, making a small, tight knot. Trim all ends. 7. Decorate the spine of the Mixed Media Album by attaching two Ornate Metal Keys to a length of ivory twine and gluing to the spine. Create a loopy bow from ivory twine and glue to the top of the spine as shown. pg 2 of 6

8. Decorate the back cover of the Mixed Media Album by trimming a piece of reverse print August Cut Apart to 83 4 x61 4. Distress the edges and sponge with Vintage Photo distress ink. Attach the paper to the back cover as shown. Place the Sunshine border strip at the top of the album as shown. 9. Create the birthday lists for the inside covers using a waterfall mechanism. Use 1 piece of ivory cardstock cut to 61 2 x6" for the base of each "waterfall." (You need two pieces to create two waterfall mechanisms.) Cut 12 pieces ivory cardstock cut to 41 2 x6". Score on the long side at 1 2. Fold on the score line. Attach double-sided tape to the 1 2 tab. quent page by the 1 2 tab at the edge of the previous 1 2 tab of the previous page. You will have six (6) pages when you are finished. Repeat the process to create a second waterfall section of six pages. 12. Using the Time to Flourish 3 Cling Stamp set, stamp each of the twelve (12) Time to Flourish Ephemera Cards selected from the pack with the matching month. Use brown dye ink. 10. Place the first tab at the top edge of the 61 2 x6" cardstock base. Each waterfall page will be 4"x6" after gluing the tab in place. 13. Once the twelve (12) cards have been stamped, sponge the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. 11. Continue to adhere the next five (5) scored pages to the base cardstock to create a waterfall. Attach each subse- pg 3 of 6

14. From the Time to Flourish 6"x6" Patterns and Solids Pad trim 12 solid pieces of paper, 4"x6" each. Sponge the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. 15. Attach the monthly ephemera cards to the top of each page of the waterfall. If desired, use a decorative corner punch to punch each corner. 18. Continue to add the papers to the waterfall mechanism until you have completed the January to June section for the inside front cover of the album. Add a piece of printed paper, cut to 4" x 6" to the ivory base. This will "peek out" beneath the June ephemera page. 19. Continue to add the papers to the waterfall mechanism until you have completed the July through Dec section for the inside back cover of the album. Add a piece of printed paper, cut to 4"x6" to the ivory base. This will "peek out" beneath the Dec ephemera page. 20. Flip the waterfall mechanism over and add strong, double-sided adhesive to the back. 16. Attach a solid piece of paper to the back of each waterfall page. Make sure to punch the corners, if desired. Trim 12 strips of printed paper from the 6"x6" pad to 3 8 x6". Sponge the edges with Vintage Photo ink and add them to the tab area between each page as shown. 21. Attach the January-June waterfall to the inside front cover of the album, lining it up 1 8 from the top and left edges of the cover. pg 4 of 6

22. Create a pocket at the bottom of the waterfall by trimming a piece of solid paper to 2"x6". Add adhesive to the sides and bottom of the paper strip and attach at 1 8 from the bottom edge of the album cover. Add a decorative strip to the pocket as shown. 25. Use the folder pages included in the Mixed Media album to create seasonal pockets. 23. Attach the JulyDecember waterfall to the inside back cover of the album, lining it up 1 8 from the top and right edges of the cover. 24. Create a pocket at the bottom of the waterfall by trimming a piece of solid paper to 2"x6". Add adhesive to the sides and bottom of the paper strip and attach at 1 8 from the bottom edge of the album cover. Add a decorative strip to the pocket as shown. 26. Decorate each pocket with papers from the 6"x6" pad. Embellish the pockets with images cut from the Cut Apart sheets, Decorative Sticker Sheet, or from the Chipboard Sheets. *Designer Tip: Save scraps from the Monthly Cards and Tags Classes to decorate your pockets. 27. Decorate both sides of one folder for spring. (Save the other three folders and decorate for summer, fall, and winter at a later time.) 28. Create monthly pocket pages from the monthly Flourish papers. To create the pocket, trim the Graphic 45 tab from the top of the Flourish sheet, making the sheet 12"x12". Score the sheet at 6" from the left edge and 81 4 from the bottom edge. Fold the bottom edge up at the 81 4 score line. Fold the sheet on the 6" score pg 5 of 6

Congratulations! You've finished the Mixed Media Birthday Keeper Album! line, making sure the fold is on the right edge of the paper. Use a hole punch to punch holes in the left edges of the paper. 29. Place the pocket folders into the album. 30. Place your monthly cards and tag creations into the pockets. pg 6 of 6
