Williamsburg Spinners & Weavers Guild Minutes September 21, 2015 James City County Recreation Center New Business Possible ways to raise money were discussed no conclusions. It was suggested that we have a sign in the library to advertise the guild. Linda C. and Janet agreed to be the nominating committee, to put together a slate of officers for 2016. They will present the slate at the October meeting. Meeting called to order by Marsha at 10:10 am Guests recognized: Nancy Crowell and Carolyn Bunch Minutes were approved. Treasurer s Report: $172.35 for silk scarves and check for Handwoven 2-year subscription, balance is $2530.04. Committee Reports No reports given Correspondence None received Old Business Next meeting James City County Recreation Center, Room C, on October 19 th Bashes On October 5 th, we will meet in the library to take down our display. Show & Tell Barbara brought a knitted lace jacket and showed a mitten in progress Selma brought a small afghan Carolyn brought a baby blanket/shawl Marsha brought gebrochon towels and some bleached yarn Sandi showed a sample and a Christmas decoration Kathy showed three scarves and an overshot sample Debbie showed a painted warp blouse Janet showed a Moorman tapestry Programs Ingrid was absent, therefore had no report on future programs. Other committees had no reports. There was discussion of possible programs on Tamari balls, possibly in March. Jen s Spinach Artichoke Dip 1 cup mayonnaise 1cup sour cream ½ tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Black pepper 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese 10 oz. package frozen chopped spinach (thaw and squeeze out excess water) 1 cup marinated artichokes, chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced Preheat oven 350. In a small bowl combine mayo & sour cream. Add remaining ingredients in order, mixing after each addition. Put mixture into a lightly greased 4 cup casserole dish. Bake about 30 minutes, until top is browned and bubbly. (Can be refrigerated and reheated after baking. Easy to make half a recipe.)
