I.3 Prtectin, measurements and display Prtectin PWR, REF, Temperature, Imax, Umax/Umin Cntrl / Display Clur TFT display Measurements and display: Drain Current DC Vltage Output Pwer PWR Reflected Pwer REF Peak Pwer PEP Temperature I.4 Put int peratin If yur device was transprted r stred in a cl r cld envirnment, it is necessary t unzip it first and let it dry in a warm envirment (by ding this yu will prtect yur device against a pssible water cndensatin). Then yu shuld cnnect the cnnecting caxial cable t the RF INPUT and RF OUTPUT jacks n the rear panel (N-female cnnectr) and attach the PTT RCA (CINCH) cnnectr. Insert a supplied pwer crd int the POWER. Then turn n the pwer switch. Initializing and cntrl equipment starts. After a shrt time, the fans will turn fr a mment at a full speed and then, after a while, they reduce int lw speed accrding t the current temperature f the LDMOS transistr. Finally, it perfrms the initializatin f the TFT tuch screen and it displays: Basic menu - Hme QSO, Cntest QSO By pressing an icn n the screen we select: I.4.1 Mde Hme QSO This mde is suitable fr the standard peratin f the Hme fr the ccasinal QSO with less demand fr cling f the PA. Speed cling fans are cntinuusly cntrlled (PWM) accrding t the temperature f the LDMOS transistr independently f the cntrl f the PTT (Rx/Tx mde). Advantage quiet peratin. I.4.2 Mde Cntest QSO This mde is suitable fr the Cntest, eventually fr DIGI peratin with high demands n cling f the PA. After switching f the PTT (Tx mde) it switches the maximum speed f the cling fans. After switching ff the PTT (mde Rx) the speed is cntinuusly cntrlled (PWM) accrding t the temperature f the LDMOS transistr. Advantage - pwerful cling fr demanding peratins. After selecting the perating mde we will get t the menu fr Display peratin. In this menu, the PA des nt respnd t cntrl PTT. Caxial relays RF INPUT linking directly t the RF OUTPUT cnnectr (bypass the amlifier). This mde ideal fr lcal QSOs at lw pwer wihut having t discnnect the PA. By pressing n the Icn, yu can chse frm the fllwing views: Standard Bargraph Peak All values I.4.3 Standard It shws the perfrmance f the Output Pwer - PWR, Reflected Pwer REF, bth appears in a bargraph and their values are represented in a numerical frm + it shws the values f the Temperature, Current and Vltage Mde Rx Mde Tx I.4.4 Bargraph It shws the perfrmance f the Output Pwer - PWR, Reflected Pwer - REF and the Temperature TEMP; they are all shwn in a bargraph and their values appear in numerical frm I.4.5 Peak It displays values as Standard, but PWR PEP and REF PEP are displayed in the peek values and the maximum values are represented during the hld f the PTT (Tx mde) Page 5 f 10 VH Electrnics Slvakia www.italab.sk

I.5 Respnding in excessing the parameters Alert / Blck-Warning I.5.1 Output Pwer PWR Alert - when crssing PWR abve the set value ( 1000W) it gets int a red bargraph, the numeric value turns red and the buzzer beeps Blck - when crssing PWR abve critical value ( 1100W) it declares "Warning" n the display and it blcks the LDMOS (Inhibit -5V), it turns the cax relay ff and it blcks the PTT. I.5.2 Reflected Pwer REF Alert - when crssing PWR abve the set value ( 100W) it gets int a red bargraph, the numeric value turns red and the buzzer beeps Blck - when crssing REF abve critical value ( 110W) it declares "Warning" n the display and it blcks the LDMOS (Inhibit -5V), it turns the cax relay ff and it blcks the PTT. In rder t restre peratin it is necessary t Restart cnfirm Warning and return t the Display peratin Alert I.5.3 Temperature Alert - when crssing the temperature abve the set value ( 65 C) it gets int a red bargraph, the numeric value turns red and the buzzer beeps Blck - when crssing PWR abve critical value ( 70 C ) it declares "Warning" n the display and it blcks the LDMOS (Inhibit -5V), it turns the cax relay ff and it blcks the PTT. I.5.4 DC Vltage Alert - when crssing DC Vltage abve the set value ( 50V) the numeric value turns red and the buzzer beeps Blck - when crssing DC Vltage abve critical value ( 55V ) it declares "Warning" n the display and it blcks the LDMOS (Inhibit -5V), it turns the cax relay ff and it blcks the PTT.
