i.bot (Line Follower) TRACK 1. The track will be 2 wide, black in colour on white coloured polyvinyl chloride surface. 2. Turns on track will only be at right angles. There will be no obtuse and acute angled turns. 3. Track will resemble to number 8 (see figure 1.1) and will be on a levelled surface. 4. Track will be appropriately placed keeping ambient light in mind. ROBOT SPECIFICATIONS 1. The dimension of bot have to confirm to dimensions 25x25x25 cm 3.Non adherence to the dimensions will lead to outright ousting from the event with no exceptions. 2. The potential difference between any two points on bot must not exceed 15 volts. 3. The robot can be fully powered only electrically either through power adaptor or batteries. 4. In case participants provide a tethered supply to the robot, team has to arrange the voltage converters or source themselves. Co-ordinators will only provide 220-240 volts, 50 Hz AC supply ports. 5. Use of LEGO TM kits is strictly prohibited and using any such kit will lead to disqualification of the team. The decision vis-à-vis the type and the category of components used by team will be the discretion of co-ordinator team without any appellate. 6. If the machine is wired then the wire should remain slack under all circumstances during the competition. All the wires coming out of machine should be stacked as single unit. The wires must be properly insulated. 7. The upper limit for motor capacity is 300rpm. GAME PLAY The bot has to traverse the black line with following conditions:

1. The bot has to stay on black line. 2. At start of each round, all teams will be provided with a same number ranging between 0-9 (read point 6). The robot has to then traverse the track corresponding to the number provided. 3. The bot has to start from the starting point which will be on the top left corner of the track(see figure 1.1). 4. Robot must traverse only the path corresponding to the number provided. At any time robot must not traverse path that does not correspond to the number provided. 5. The competition will have maximum of three rounds. However, number of rounds might be reduced depending on the participation. 6. At beginning of NEXT round, teams will be provided with a new number (same to all teams) which is harder to traverse than the previous number provided. Thus complexity to traverse path increases as round increases. ROUND1- The team will be given either number 2 or 7. (See Figure 1.2) ROUND 2 The team will be given either number 6 or 8 (See Figure 1.3). ROUND 3- The team will be given either number 3 or 4 (See Figure 1.4). 7. At the end of each round some fixed number of teamshaving lower points will be eliminated and others will qualify for next round. 8. Teams will be provided 5 min to make changes in their robot (hardware and software) after announcement of the number at beginning of each round. 9. The bot must stop after completion of the figure traversed.

Figure 1.3- Graphical representation of Track for ROUND 2 Figure 1.4- Graphical representation of Track for ROUND 3 RULES A-GAME 1. In each round, every team will be given only one chance to run their machine on the track. 2. Timer will start when the robot starts from starting point. 3. At any time robot must not traverse path that does not correspond to the number provided. In case it traverses wrong path, team will not be allowed to continue in that round and their points will be counted up to the first position wrongly traversed. 4. There will be partial points vis-à-vis the length covered, checkpoints cleared, objectives achieved etc. 5. The robot will be judged on basis of (in priority):- a. Objective following b. Time to complete the track c. Innovation in Design (in hardware and software)

d. Power consumption 6. For calculating points based on time lapsed, a threshold value will be set and revealed on the day of the event. The points awarded will be governed by the relation Points = (T Thereshold -T Taken )*10 7. The judges decision on the criteria of innovation and design cannot be competed. 8. At each overreach of the black portion of the track, points will be deducted. 9. Team members will not be allowed to touch or reset their robots position during the run. 10. Any problem with the power supply other than that with the power socket and that too if that has not been caused due to negligence of the team will not be taken into account. 11. During the Round, only maximum of two team members are allowed in the arena, one member will control the robot and other to guide it. 12. Each team should have its own programmers and components; no programmers will be made available by the coordinator during the event. B-GENERAL 1. Each team can have maximum 5 members. 2. Any team that is not ready at the specified time will be scratched from the competition automatically. 3. Judges and coordinators decision shall be treated as final and binding on all. The co-ordinators reserve the right to change any or all of the above mentioned rules as they deemed fit. Change in rules, if any, will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered participants.
