Classroom Wish List Instructions Supplies*: Tri-fold poster board Construction paper or cardstock paper of various colors: lilac, purple, dark purple, different shades of green, yellow, etc. Metallic blue wrapping paper Glue Aerosol spray adhesive Scissors Marker Directions: 1. Spray the back of the metallic wrapping paper and attach to the top half of the tri-fold board. As shown in Figure 1. 2. Use the templates and a projector to create the background rock shapes. Make them the size needed in order to fit onto the tri-fold board as shown in Figure 2. Trace rocks 1 and 2, (found on pages 3 and 4), on lilac colored paper and cut out the figures. Figure 1 3. Use spray adhesive to attach rocks 1 and 2 to the tri-fold board as shown in Figure 2. Do not glue down the tops of the rocks as items may need to be tucked underneath the top of the rocks at a later step. Figure 2 4. Use the templates and a projector to create the middle ground rock shapes. Make them the size needed in order to fit onto the tri-fold board as shown in Figure 3. Trace rocks 3 and 4, (found on pages 5 and 6), on purple colored paper and cut out the figures. 5. Use spray adhesive to attach rocks 3 and 4 as shown in Figure 3. Do not glue down the tops of the rocks as items may need to be tucked underneath the top of the rocks at a later step. Figure 3 Page 1 of 13
6. Use the templates and a projector to create the foreground rock. Make it the size needed in order for it to fit onto the trifold board as shown in Figure 4. Trace rock 5, (found on page 7), on purple colored paper and cut out the figure. 7. Use spray adhesive to attach rock 4 as shown in Figure 4. Figure 4 8. Use the projector to trace the different seaweed strands, (found on page 8), on different shades of green paper. Cut out the strands. 9. Glue the seaweed in groups in front of, or tucked behind the top and unglued edges of the rocks, as shown in Figure 5. Figure 5 10. Print out the sea plants, (found on pages 9 and 10), on colored paper and cut out. 11. Glue the plants in front of, or tucked behind the top and unglued edges of the rocks, as shown in Figure 6. Figure 6 12. Print out the Classroom Wish List letters, (found on page 11), on yellow paper and cut out each individual letter. 13. Glue them along the top of the board as shown in Figure 7. 14. Print out the Classroom Wish List starfish (found on page 12), on different paper and avoid using shades of blue, green, or purple as they may blend in to the rocks. Cut out the starfish and write out the teachers names using a marker. 15. Glue the starfish by putting a dot of glue on 4 of the 5 points of the star. Leave one point unglued as that will be where the starfish will open for the slips. Refer to Figure 8. Figure 7 16. Print out the fish and bubbles, (found on pages 13 and 14), and finish decorating the top of the board. glue *Remember, these are only suggestions.
