Alice Nicholls My Top Four Tips for Ultimate Wellbeing for the woman REINVENTION PROJECT Number One: Assess what you re filling your hours with on a day to day basis. Most women I coach tell me that they are so busy, and stressed because they are so busy, and anxious because they are so busy, that they cannot think properly about whole health and wellbeing today. I just need to wait until I have less work on, my baby starts sleeping through the night, I m not driving to work each day in traffic, after my birthday, after my holidays they tell me. Except that when we begin to pull back the curtains on what they are filling their days with it turns out that they are consuming negative, deficit inducing messages on a daily, hourly and sometimes, multi-hourly basis. What do I mean by this? They re on Facebook, Instagram or in email [just reading] for hours. Consuming... but not producing and not creating. If this is you, I know it can feel like you re busy when you ve been scrolling for 30 mins. It s not just social though. It s being able to assess where you spend the majority of your time and what you re doing in general, across all of your days. Maybe you re reading gossip mags when you could be reading a new inspirational novel, listening to radio ads when you could be listening to an educational podcast, or staring at content marketing platforms when you could be painting, drawing, singing, dancing or loving or caring for your body. The areas you want to look at are: Physical health, emotional health, career health, relationship health, sexual health, creative health, spiritual health. How are you spending your time in these areas. All of them are important. Where can you add to these?
Number Two: Decide what success looks like to you? Fancy cars, new shoes, an address in what suburb? What does this even mean to you? Have you thought about what your specific version of success looks like? Have you thought about why you have even chosen this version for yourself? I like my garden, and I don t need to be wearing Gucci to get enjoyment out of it. You might love to paint, to read, to play chess, to sing, to run, to be a team leader. Most of the visions of success my clients have are created from an ad they saw reflected to them over and over again in glossy mags and on billboards and Instagram and that was #hashtagged a gazillion times. To be able to do a hollow back-bend in yoga, for instance. You might think you know what your version of success looks like, but ask yourself: If no-one externally to you and your immediate loved-ones were there to see you achieve this success, would it still matter? Number Three: Clear body, clear mind. It s impossible to function optimally when you re filling your body with junk. I have never met a person who is filled with drugs, or booze, or cigarette s or chemicals, who is actively fulfilled and able to tap into their true potential. Truth. Don t get me wrong... the human body is actually capable of sustaining a lot of pressure in it s lifetime, so you don t necessarily need to wake at 5am to yoga and meditate, drink green juice every morning for breakfast or have a 1 hour spiritual practice every day to be able to achieve a higher level of life-participation than you are now. However, let s imagine you owned a $5M racehorse and they were running in the Melbourne Cup tomorrow. Would you send that racehorse out on the booze and cigs tonight and then finish the night on a packet of Tim Tam s? You would not. Clean up your diet and you will gain clarity and focus and motivation you ve never had before!
Number Four: Consider that what your mind tells you is not real all of the time. You re a failure, a loser, worse-off-than, not enough, slow, dumb, angry, damaged, hurt, wronged, right, pissed off, deserving, owed, never-forgiving, revengeful, unworthy, notenough. WHO SAYS? The majority of things that your mind tells you is real is not. It is simply the reaction of the personal and individual lens you see it through. A negative reaction and emotion that your mind tells you is real that is, in fact, created to allow you to play victim, leave responsibility elsewhere or not have to take responsibility for mastering your own destiny and being the owner of your own happiness. As adults, we have an amazing opportunity to shape our own thoughts, flip the negative selftalk on its head and own how we feel. It is true that what we think, we become. Commit to being the owner of your own mind and the vision and life you create for yourself. You are more powerful than you realise right now. If you elevate your thoughts, you elevate your existence. Start to believe it. I create my own destiny. I own my thoughts. I choose to be happy in this moment. I am a woman, reinvented. Alice XX TheWholeDaily.com.au
