1. INTRODUCTION This manual is intended to be easy to understand and use in the logo reproduction, providing that it never loses its unit and force. By this means, the ESS Group emblem will achieve a truly consistent image and personality which is crucial to be recognized as a single entity. Based on the description of the Union symbolic emblem "On an azure sky, golden stars represent the peoples of Europe in a circle, a symbol of unity" the logo was created from the concept of unity among all statistical offices that constitutes the ESS group. The vertex of each star symbolizes each country of the. The symbol was built by joining the vertex of the "S" (of '' and of '') with the "e" of 'Europe'.

Therefore, it should always be considered the maximum contrast and legibility. In the case of gray scale image, we recommend using a protective box, to preserve the correct reading of the logo. The size of the protection box size should meet the safety margins previously established.
