Teams may not have more than 5 team members. The contest is open to all high school, undergraduate and graduate students. Contestants must submit their application forms until May 15 th, 2018. In the application form, the following should be indicated: a. Team information and contestants contact numbers, b. Requested sponsorship needs. Figure 1 Sketch of the Contest Area Marked regions 1 and 3 in Figure 1 represent water regions. There are 10 randomly placed scale model ships in the 1 st region. Ships are made of green-colored floating material and their dimensions are 10 cm (width) x 15 cm (length) x 5 cm (height). The robot will then take the model ships to the 2 nd region where water depth is 20 cm. 2 nd region is representative of the hill where the ships are moved on land. There will also be a conveyer belt in this region. Robots must carry and release the model ships on this conveyer belt. The model ships will then travel on the conveyer belt towards and reach the Golden Horn, which is represented by the 3 rd region. The width of the conveyer belt in the 2 nd region is 40 cm. The starting point of conveyer belt is marked by two blue columns on each side for ease of location identification. Column dimensions are 10 cm (width) x 10 cm (length) x 40 cm (height) (see Figure 2). In the 3rd region, city walls are represented by rectangular prisms measuring 10 cm x 4 cm x 4 cm put on top of each other and side-by-side. The total length and height of city wall is 1 m and 40 cm respectively (See Figure 3).

The remote control may only be used for turning the robot on and off and may not be used for controlling the robot remotely once turned on. Maximum dimensions of a robot can be 50 cm (height) x 30 cm (width) and the robot cannot weigh more than 5 kg. Robots must be able to shoot cannonballs to tear down the city walls. Cannonballs will be provided by the contest committee before the start of the contest. Cannonballs cannot be larger than 3cm x 3cm x 3cm spheres and weigh more than 100gr and it is forbidden to use explosive materials in the shooting mechanism. 5) Contest Objectives and Rules
Applicants are due to fill in the preliminary report until 15 th May 2018. The sample form of the report can be found from the following link; http://teknofestistanbul.org/content/files/teknoloji/raporsablonu/ontasar%c4%b1m_rapor_taslak-robotikfetih1453.docx The preliminary report should be sent to Teknofest through the web link which will be announced by Teknofest Management in a soon time. Robots should accomplish the following 3 tasks: 1. Detect model ships floating on water and carry them through the water to the conveyer belt in the 2 nd region. 2. Position itself on the conveyer belt and reach the 3 rd region. 3. Shoot at city walls in the 3 rd region and tear down as much wall blocks as possible. a. Scoring and Assessment 1. Robots are awarded points for each of the tasks they carry out (see Figure 1). 2. Total points are divided by the task completion time and the resulting number is the total score for the robot. If the robot cannot complete the tasks within the time specified, they will be considered to have finished in 20 minutes. 3. The robot, which scores the highest points wins. 4. In the event of a draw, the lightest robot wins the contest. Type of task Points Exit from start point 50 Each ship landed on 3 rd region (per ship) 2000 Robots arriving at 3 rd region 1000 Each block torn down the city wall (per block) 500 Figure 1 Scoring Table EVALUATION EXAMPLE:
