Page 3 Happy Halloween Card I found these cool stamps the other day on my excursion to Hobby Lobby. They are by Inkadinkado called Mindscape Halloween. They remind me of the kids books I Spy or Where s Waldo. In the image there are other little images related to Halloween that you have to really look for I thought they were cool and they were on sale! All of the pretty papers, buttons, ribbons, and strips from the kit worked so well to layer up this card. I added some die cuts, the leftover weaving from the trinket box, and even some recycled paper that once wrapped a box of chocolates (black and white checked). On the inside there is a secret compartment to hide the tag.
Page 4 con t from pg3 Trinket Box This little box was inspired by a Halloween Limoges ceramic one that I came across on ebay. I am a sucker for Halloween decorations and that one was just too cute. It translated to paper really well, don t you think? Quilled Quilted Banner Say that three times fast! I found the teenager-saying a while back and it is sooo true; I had to use it in a craft project. I made the saying with quilled letters, added a geometric quilting style pumpkin, (I needed something big enough to write on), some scrolls, die cuts, stuck it all on a craft paper banner, and added a stick; now I have to wait for Halloween!
Page 5 Spooky Bookmarks I love making these fun and easy bookmarks, and the decorative paper in this month s kit was made for them! I punched out the cats, monster, ghost, bat, and pumpkins with a round punch and mounted them on scalloped circles die cuts from the coordinating card stock and papers in the kit. Google eyes were added for a bit of movement and fun, and of course I couldn t let it pass without adding glitter for sparkle. Another scallop circle was cut for the back and an extra large paperclip was sandwiched between the front and back with heavy two-sided tape. Glow paint was added for another bit of fun, but is really hard to get a picture of! To finish it off, I used the candy corn ribbon and a bit of gauze tied into a knot. You can use these as party favors to close up a treat bag. My nephews will love them!
con t from pg5 Page 6 Black Cat Invitation The black cat on the decorative paper was the inspiration for this fun party invitation. I used just parts of the cat, his paws and his head peeking over the top and tail curling around, for a quick quilled embellishment. It works up fast and easy for several invitations. More of the decorative paper and card stock was layered beneath and a glitter border for sparkle again. Bandage gauze was used to tie a knot on the cat s tail and wrapped around with goggle eyes peeking out. These eyes are all aglow in the dark ghost who is hiding under the gauze for another fun surprise when the lights are out. Inside has plenty of room for your party details. Black and Yellow Monogram I was working (for several days) on a different project, that well, I couldn t get right!! I should have gone with my first inspiration which was this project. It went together so quickly and easily after I finally gave up on the other one. The yellow paper in the kit was destined to become flowers, and is pretty and dramatic with the black quilled flowers. Looped and teardrop leaves and scrolls help make the S shape, where the black 5 petal pointed petal flowers wind through the yellow flowers with a fringe and tight coil black center. Yellow vellum flowers with pearl centers fill in the design. This will go with two other yellow color scheme projects in my guest room.
