Hello Everyone. I ll be sure to wear my name badge to our August general meeting so that you ll know me because by then I will have missed the meetings for April, May, and June. Oh no! As I just wrote the last sentence I realized that I won t be home the second week in August either. Rachel and I will be on our annual/ traditional trip to the Monterey Historics. As I mentioned in my May message, the reason I missed the May General Meeting was because I had the honor to present our scholarship to a graduating Red Rock High School student, Brian Vergara. Rachel and I sat with Brian and his mother at the scholarship ceremony and we were quite impressed by him. Not only did he receive a scholarship from our club, but he also received two others! He already has his whole career planned out - from attending an automotive trade tech school, to the type of initial job he would like to have, to eventually owning his own car repair facility. I m sure he will be successful in his goals. I am very proud that SCC is involved in the scholarship program. About 70 scholarships were awarded, some for tuition at our several universities, but most from local organizations such as ours, and local businesses. Many of the recipients earned 3, 4, or 5 separate scholarships. The students were impressive, earning scholarships for one or more reasons such as high grades, involvement in school programs, community service and more. I am especially sorry I will miss our picnic. That s always a fun outing. You folks enjoy it. Have a great summer. I ll be around most of the time, just, unfortunately, not on the days of our meetings.

We expect our 110 car space to fill quickly. Editor s all-time favorite beer wagon. In 1901, Prohibition in Canada began through a provincial legislation in Prince Edward Island. In 1916, prohibition was instituted in Ontario as well, affecting all 64 breweries in the province. Although some provinces totally banned alcohol manufacture, some permitted production for export to the United States. Labatt survived by producing full strength beer for export south of the border and by introducing two "temperance ales" with less than two per cent alcohol for sale in Ontario. However, the Canadian beer industry suffered a second blow when Prohibition in the United States began in 1919. When Prohibition was repealed in Ontario in 1926, just 15 breweries remained and only Labatt retained its original management. This resulted in a strengthened industry position. In 1945 Labatt became a publicly traded company with the issuance of 900,000 shares. Thanks, Sam Pietrofitta CAR FOR SALE 1998 Corvette Convertible.
