1. Robo-Academy Robo academy is the half of the legend which is called CORD, it started in 2008, 2nd year of launching CORD.It consisted of 2 workshops; both workshops had the same core "General Robotics Consideration". In the next year, 2009, Robo-Academy grew more and enlarged the number of workshops to 4; in each one a specific knowledge in robotic science is given. "Let the games begin" is Robo-Academy slogan which shows that one can enjoy learning and implementing the Knowledge given in Robo-Academy workshops as if he/she is simply playing "Games". And here's Robo-Academy 2010 with the slogan "Playing @ practical mode" to continue what has been done is 2009 and continue spreading the robotics awareness among the students through technical practical sessions held about different topics concerning robot building phases. From this point, the second phase of Robo- Academy comes out The competition.which is about Line tracking maze solver robot!

2. Rules i.outline of the competition Operation :is a game based on building a robot which is capable of solving a Maze and reaching its end without being stuck in any closed path in the maze, the robot will be guided by a line which the robot will track it to know the directions. Robot will find some blocks as a T shape in the right way so its job is to carry out the block, put it in the white spot at the end of the maze.

ii.field: Structure and Specifications The field consists of Maze Area ends with an end point.. The robot will be guided with a white line with a width of 4 cm The end point is marked by a big white with a radius of 10 cm. The robot dimensions must not exceed 25 cm X 25 cm in order to be able to go through the maze.

iii.game procedure: The Robot begins to move automatically from the start point to end point of the maze by only one method which is line tracking. The robot should be able to go to the end of the maze by following the white path drawn on the floor which guides it to the shortest way to the end. The path consists of straight lines Perpendicular to each other and there are no curved lines in the path. The robot should stop automatically when it reaches the end point without any help from any team member. For a mechanical part: For the locomotion system, floor will be slipping, so your locomotion system should be more adaptable with any floor. Robots job is to carry out the block from its path and put to the white spot.

System used on carrying the block should depend on motors only if robo-arm or a forklift (no hydraulic or pneumatic systems(. Robot weight should not exceed 5 kg. Now when you find the block you have the choice if you want to let your robot carry it automatic or by a remote control from the participant (wireless remote control), if you choose to make it automatic then the method to identify the block is according to PCP-GND participant. Block: Block will be at T shape. Dimension of T shape will be 10cm x 10 cm x 3 cm.

T shape will be at the position like the picture. It is required to carry 1 block only. iv.competition tasks: 1 st task is to get out of the maze area. 2 nd task is to carry the block from its path. 3 rd task is to stop automatically at the white spot. v.disqualifications: A team shall be disqualified if it commits any of the following before/during the match: Robot dimensions exceed 25 cm X 25 cm X 25 cm (Not including its arm). Robot weight exceeds 5 Kg. Supply voltage exceeds 12 Volts. The team performs any act that is not in the spirit of fair play.

vi.evaluation system: Process phase points (40 % of Total Points) 1.according to Mega Hertz workshop: )Points are ordered by their importance( o Code must cover all the cases o Simulation of code on the simulator must be neat and organized o Code must be readable o Code must be easy to modify 2.according to Pcb Gnd workshop o printed circuit board or bread board (if you use bread board in the final implementation you will lose points) you can use bread board at earlier stages to test your components and modules individually. o schematic and layout o finishing :did you use cables or soldered wires, the clearance, soldering,...etc 3.according to Robo Crib workshop o General design considerations (Simplicity, maintenance, and safety). o Body shell and fine finishing.

o Using motors on lifting system. o Locomotion system is adapted to any floor or not. o Type of material used versus weight. o Deliver the block or not. o Making a gear box or not. Competition phase points (50 % of Total Points) Penalties 1.Touching the robot with your hand 2.Robot gets away from the path (You should restart from last position in which the robot was tracking the line) 3.Going through a wrong path two times (as the robot should recognize the wrong path once it moved through it and it must avoid going through it again) Delivery different phases (design, implementation, testing ) each on its dead line (10 % of total points) (10 % bonus of total points) for any creative add or innovation.
