Just a quick reminder for you electric flyers, batteries don't like heat. So, make sure your airflow path to your ESC and batteries is wide open including the exit area. Failing to do this is both dangerous and expensive and it is so simple to correct. Just a sharp #11 blade and a little time and problem solved. For us gas burners the same cautions apply. Those cylinder heads don't like temps much above 200-220 degrees for very long. So make a short landing approach and check your head temperatures to be sure. Once again, failure to provide cooling air is expensive. At the last meeting, Ken Knowles presented a "Master Plan" for field development. After discussion it was voted to adopt this plan to guide us in our growth. It is really great when members take a sincere interest in the progress of the club. Talk to Ken and review the plan to see all the positive projects noted there. The only things missing are flush toilets and a gold plated presidential office! Good results start with a good plan. Way to go Ken! TRCM Events 2017 Annual barbecue at Bill Churchill s August 5 Oakdale IMAC, Aug 12/13 Scale fly-in/warbird event, August 19 Dinner and night fly October 7 Turkey Shoot November 11 or 18 The Churchill Summer BBQ will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 5:00 p.m. Please plan to come and join you fellow club members for great food and even better friendship. I want to thank Bill and Audrey and their families for having us into their household each year. It is truly a family wide endeavor on their part. August 19, 2017 is the date for the Giant Scale Fly-in. Otherwise known as "Bring anything big to fly and have a great day with fellow flyers Day." Talk about low key, the past Fly-ins have been mostly about flying, peanut gallery comments and help from other knowledgeable flyers. No judging and other than safety rules, no rules on what gets flown. Come and join if you can, it is a great day of fun. The next meeting of TRCM is on August 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lodi Public Library community room. Please note the start time change from 6:30 to 6:00 p.m. This will give us a chance to get through the agenda before closing at 8:00 p.m. I hope to see you there.
