Yu will need t get it pened by a warden r smene else with an ISEO key. The speaker- stand bag sits n tp f everything else. Remve the equipment carefully s as nt t damage it. Yu will need The ludspeakers. One cntains the mixer and the ther, sme cables in the back. The ludspeaker stands in the black nyln carry bag. A small cin (frm yur pcket). The a lng mains extensin with fur sckets. The blue nyln case which cntains the radi mic, the digital recrder, the memry cards, sme shrt cables and a few bits and pieces. The ther micrphnes are stred in the vestry. Ask a warden r leader t fetch these. If they are nt there try behind the main sund desk (r as a last resrt, inside it). Mic cables (all black) are in the big white crate. Mic stands will be in the pew at the right hand side f the upstairs wrship area. Preferably d nt remve the nes used fr the main lectern r any f the band area equipment. Make sure the mic clips are the right size fr the micrphnes in use. Basic Setup Imprtant Plug in the speakers and turn dwn all the vlumes BEFORE switching n the pwer t the mixer. TEST everything befre the service starts. Check the recrder and radi mic ba)eries. Inputs Channel 1: fr the lectern. Cmpressr n (dwn & lit). The Reverb shuld be ff (up). Channel 2: fr the radi mic. Cmpressr n (dwn & lit). The reverb shuld be ff (up). Ask befre the service if they actually need this t save sesng it up unnecessarily. Channels 3 & 4: fr singer/instrument mics. Ask befrehand if they want them. Channel 5/6: (stere) Guitar/keybard (this is just a jack t jack n need fr a DI bx). Fr mn use just the led channel. Channel 7/8: (stere) Mn the same as 5/6 (thugh it desn t say s). Channels 9/10: (stere) kept fr IPd/Cmputer/Vide. Use the black phn- t- phn cable with the mini jack adapter if needed. Vlume cntrl wisdm Keep the master cntrl as lw as pssible say arund the 10 clck mark. This is bezer fr the recrding as, this will frce the channel vlumes up and hence mre vlume n the recrder utputs. Turn up the individual channels t get the right vlume in the rm arund 2 clck shuld sund abut right fr the leaders and between 9 and 12 fr the singers, Yu can g higher fr quiet vices but g carefully t avid feedback. The meter n the mixer desn t mean much s d it by ear. The Detail The Mixer & Speakers Yu will need a small cin (1p r 5p) t und the twist screws n the back f each speaker. D this carefully s that the mixer desn t fall n the flr. Erect the stands s the tp is abut chin height and there is enugh splay at the bzm fr stability and place a speaker n the tp f each. Place the mixer n ne f the lw tables set ut fr the cngrega_n. Yu need t be at the frnt and nrmally ver t the right twards the band, par_cularly if the musicians are using the PA. We place them t the sides, ne t the led f the screen with the lng cable and make sure the ne t the right f the band is slightly IN FRONT f them else yu will get feedback. The cables g int the sckets n the led labelled SPEAKERS. Run ut the mains extensin frm a suitable scket t just under yur pera_ns table. Make sure all cables are safe and ut f the way. Lay a mat ver the nes directly in frnt f the table. Turn dwn all the vlumes, plug in the pwer and switch n. Turn the master vlume t abut 10 clck. The Speech/Music buzn shuld be dwn (fr Music it sunds bezer that way). The new lectern mic needs Phantm Pwer s that switch shuld be n. The MONITOR cntrl knb and sckets d nthing useful here. Cabled Micrphnes etc. Run the cables safely and cnnect t the relevant sckets n the mixer. The reasn fr sisng at the frnt f the cngrega_n is t keep these cable runs ut f their way and as shrt as pssible and als s yu can hear rughly what they hear. Each micrphne will require a stand. Adjust as needed. Test each micrphne as it is installed. We have generally fund that guitars and keybards wrk bezer if they use their wn amps but if it is necessary t plug ne int the mixer then they will need t find apprpriate cables. The laptp is generally t the led f the cngrega_n. If they need vide sund utput then a lng twin phn- t- phn cable will be required with the mini jack adaptr. There is ne in the sund desk. Radi Mic Ask the leaders if they want t use this The receiver has a pwer adapter, which plugs in t the mains extensin and the ther end ges int the back f the receiver. Extend the aerial fully and ver_cal. Cnnect t the mixer with the red Jack t XLR cable. Set the vlume n the frnt f the receiver t abut 3 clck. T turn n the mic there are tw slide switches n the base. The ne with the light is pwer and the ther is mute. Switch n the pwer first and check if it has enugh bazery life (the light shuld be bright green. If it is nt then change the bazery). Nw switch the mute and test it. There is n need t switch anything during the service but dn t frget t switch it ff at the end. Turn dwn the channel (2) when it is nt being used. There will be a pwer adaptr ne day (we hpe). Plug that int the mains and the cable int the small scket n the right side. Otherwise use bazeries. T switch it n press the HOME (7) buzn fr a few secnds un_l the screen lights up. Check the ba)ery level (even if using mains pwer). Find a memry card in a brwn envelpe in the case. If there are nne then try in the main sund desk area. It ges int a slt n the right hand side f the recrder. Press it in un_l it clicks. The cver frm this slt has been deliberately remved as it gets in the way. T start recrding press the RED (16) buzn n the right nce fr standby and then again t start. If yu press it again the recrding will pause but we dn t want that. Yu can mnitr the recrding level n the meter in the display (yu shuld see mvement) and there is a level cntrl n the led side f the recrd. We need it n maximum vlume t get a gd signal. T insert a track- break press the >> (19) buzn n the right f the circular wheel. T stp the recrding, press the HOME (7) buzn n the led (with the white square). The ther cntrls are nt used fr this prcess. Ader the service remve the memry card frm the slt (push it again and it clicks ut). Place it back int its case and the envelpe, write the date and ini_al the frnt, _e it up and place it in the P pigenhle. If there is an rder f service, put a cpy f that in as well. Switch ff the recrder by pressing the HOME (7) buzn again fr a few secnds un_l the screen ges dark. Packing up Stp the recrding as abve then turn dwn all vlume cntrls. SWITCH OFF THE POWER TO THE MIXER. Switch ff the recrder and the radi mic t save their bazeries. Nw yu can discnnect the speakers, micrphnes and ther stuff. Clear up the mics and put them away in the metal case. Ask a warden t put them back int the vestry where they are kept. Carefully lid ff the speakers frm the tp f the stands. Nw they can bth be put away nt the shelf in the cupbard. Fld up the speaker stands and put them in the bag. If yu put them in ppsite ways they g in easier. This ges int the cupbard n tp f the speakers. The radi mic stuff, the recrder, cables and all the small bits and pieces g back int the blue bag and nt the cupbard shelf tgether with the reel mains extensin cable.
