Materials: Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool 100 g (3.5oz) / 220 yds (200 m) MC - 1 Skein of #8895 (Christmas Red) CC1-1 Skein of #8267 (Forest Green) CC2-1 Skein of #8505 (White) US 6 (4.0 mm)/16 circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge US 5 (3.5 mm)/16 circular needles US 6 (4.0 mm) Double pointed needles (DPNs) for toe decreases. Crochet Hook Size J (6.0 mm) or 6 piece of ribbon for Hanger. Yarn Needle 2 Stitch Marker 1 Large Stitch Holder Gauge: 22 sts x 26 rows = 4 (10 cm) blocked in stranded Stockinette st on larger needles OR 22 sts x 26 rows = 4 (10 cm) blocked in single color Stockinette st on smaller needles. Tree (Stranded) Stocking with Holly Border: Work all rows of the Snowy Tree and Holly charts for size being made. PM at beginning of rnd and after st 36 of rnd. Repeat each row of chart twice across each rnd, slipping markers while knitting. Then work the heel. Note: All slipped sts are slipped purlwise unless otherwise stated. Heel rows are worked back & forth, not in the rnd. Heel is worked in CC1. Heel: Cut MC (and CC2 if applicable) leaving 8 (20 cm) tail. Row 1 (RS): Join CC1, K18, turn. Row 2 (WS): P36, turn. K36 instep sts, pick up and K12 sts evenly in the ch sts along the 2 nd side of heel flap. K6 sts. (72 sts). Join on next rnd. Rest of stocking is knit in the rnd. Go to foot section for stocking being made. Foot for Plain Stocking with Holly Border: Work all rnds in MC until foot measures approx. 5 (6) (12.5 (15) cm) from 1 st rnd knit after completion of heel. Then work the Toe. Foot for Tree (Stranded) Stocking with Holly Border: Work Foot Chart for size being made. Then work the Toe. Toe: Cut MC and (CC2 if applicable) leaving 8 (20 cm) tail. Toe is worked in CC1. Hanger: Use ribbon to make a hanging tab and sew in securely with needle and thread to the WS of work or use 2-20 (50 cm) strands of CC1 held together and crochet a 3 (7.5 cm) ch.
