It doesn t take much more than fabric and a couple of dowel rods to make one. She ll love coming home to a tent made just for her.» Banner Up It s time to raise the flags on your fabric fortress! After making each pennant (fusible web-backed fabric letters on canvas), leave extra ribbon on the ends so you can tie the banner to the fabric-covered dowel rods. Then simply insert the dowel rods in place on the top of the frame you ll drill holes for them when constructing the frame. Tread on Me A home just isn t a home without a pretty little mat that practically begs guests to come on in. So make her one to match her tent and the frilly décor inside. We wrapped fabric around a clothesline (any thick cording will do), gluing as we worked to secure. 4 Sleep Tight The bedbugs certainly won t bite when they see your little one s mini lights! We brightened things up a bit by wrapping the tent sides with lights first. Then we covered the wood with coordinating gingham fabric to hide the cords. We finished off by tying on a few well-placed bows. Build the basic A-frame structure with 2 x 2 boards and heavy-duty screws. Assemble the frame according to the diagram on page 5. TIP: Be sure to drill two holes into the top of the frame to accommodate the dowel rods for the banner. 4 Hobby Lobby Product Inspirations

5 Tent Structure How-To: Supplies: Five 2 x 2 boards, each 4 in length Four 2 x 2 boards, each 5 in length Ten 1 ¾ Wood Screws Screwdriver or Power Drill Saw 1. Measure and cut a series of 2" x 2" boards. You ll need four 5' pieces and five 4' pieces. 2. Pre-drill and countersink to keep the wood from splitting and to keep the screws from protruding from the wood. Tip: Be sure to drill two holes into the top of the frame to accommodate the dowel rods for the banner. 3. To begin assembling the base of the frame, screw two 4' boards together, as shown. 4. Screw the remaining 4' boards to the 4' boards from step 2 to create the square base for the frame. 5. Measure and cut the ends of two 5' boards at a 45 angle. 6. Screw two 5' pieces (one with an angled end and one without) together to create a triangular end, as shown. Repeat with other two 5' pieces. 8. Screw the remaining 4' piece into each end of the top of the frame, as shown. YourA-frame is now complete! 7. Screw the pieces from step 6 into the bottom of the base on both sides, as shown. 6 Tent Cover How-To: Yardage for the Tent: Main fabric: 7 ¼ yards Secondary fabric: 3 yards Note: Use ½" seams throughout. Finish raw edges with a serger or a zigzag stitch. 1. Sides: Cut two 43" x 65" pieces of the main fabric and two 10" x 65" pieces. Sew one 43" x 65" piece and one 10" x 65" piece together along the 65" side. Repeat to make the other side of the tent. Now sew the tent sides together at the top, along the 51" edge (side). Turn under 1" along the sides and bottom edges, and stitch in place. 2. Ties: Cut fourteen 1 ½ x 22" strips of gingham. Fold under ¼" on all four sides and then fold in half again. Edge stitch together to make ties. Sew two ties on the right side and two on the left side. Sew three ties to the bottom edge. Repeat for the other side of the tent. 3. Assembly: Drill holes 1" from each end of the dowel rods. Tie the tent fabric over the frame, trimming the ties if necessary. Wrap lights around the wood at the top and sides of the tent.
