1 Motor Operated Exterior Projection Screen Wall ing Bracket INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION & OPERATION CAUTION Wall ing Bracket 1. Inspect all boxes to make sure you have received the proper screen and parts. Controls may be shipped separately, or in same carton as screen. 2. Open cartons lengthwise. 3. All hardware must be installed level. Screen must be level and square. 4. Do not wire motors in parallel without written permission from Draper. 5. It is the installer s responsibility to make sure appropriate fasteners are used for mounting surface. 6. Before connecting switches, controls, or electrical, make sure power is off. Wiring indicated in diagram by dashed lines must be completed by an electrician. 7. Please read the following installation guidelines thoroughly and follow them carefully. Failure to do so invalidates warranty. Please Note: Custom products/installations may not be reflected by this document. Call Draper, Inc. if you have questions about your installation. TOOLS REQUIRED Viewing Surface Pencil Cable Guide Tape Measure Dowel Level Power Drill Section 1 - Preparation of Installation 1. Make sure mounting surface is strong enough to hold the Nocturne+. Please Note: It is the responsibility of installer to use appropriate fasteners for the mounting surface. 2. Verify unit measurements, and make sure it will fit in the desired location. Please Note: The Dowel does not retract into the Case. This will need to be accounted for if mounting over a swinging window or door. 3. ing brackets MUST be installed with a gap of 1¾ (45mm) between the End Cap and the ing Bracket edge (See Fig. 1). 2 Section 2 - ing Case with Brackets - Wall Installation page 2 of 6 Attaching ing Brackets 1. Attach mounting brackets to the wall using #10 flat head screws installed flush with bracket. Be sure to use AT LEAST 2 of the top mounting holes (See Fig. 2). Figure (2) Attaching Case to ing Brackets 1. Attach Case to brackets and tighten Set Screws (See Fig. 3). 2. Attach ing Brackets to the Case as a spacer between the Case and the wall. Please Note: Leave a 1¾ (45mm) gap between End Cap and ing Bracket (See Fig. 4), and tighten set screws. Leave a 1¾ (45mm) GAP Attach ing Bracket as spacer and Tighten Set Screws 2. Removing Roller Assembly A. Remove screws from bottom of Case, remove Cover and set aside. B. Remove Quick Release Pin from Idler End of Roller Assembly. C. Remove Roller Assembly, Idler End first, and set aside. REMOVE COVER Figure (5) REMOVE QUICK RELEASE PIN REMOVE ROLLER ASSEMBLY Remove screws from bottom of Case 3. ing to Ceiling / Wall Using the mounting holes in the end caps as a guide (See Fig. 6), drill pilot holes on both ends of the Case. Attach to mounting surface using appropriate fasteners. Please Note: It is the responsibility of installer to use appropriate fasteners for the mounting surface. 4. Once the Case is secured to the mounting surface, re-install Roller Assembly*, Quick Release Pin and Cover. 5. You are now ready to mount the Side Cables (See Page 3). 3 Section 4 - Installing Cable Guides page 3 of 6 Before Installing the Cable Guides, remove the Roller assembly from the Case. (See Removing Roller Assembly section on Page 2). Figure (7) 1. Thread Cable Guide through dowel and then the provided hole in the endcaps (see Figure 7). 2. Tighten the Cable Clamp. It should rest on the endcap with no slack or kinks in the cable guide. 3. Pull the Cable Guide taught and parallel with edge of the fabric panel. Determine the location of the Wall or Deck. 3 / 32 Cable Clamp 4. Attach Wall or Deck to surface using appropriate hardware. 5. Insert the Jackscrew end of the Cable Guide into the Wall/Deck. Tension to 8 in-lbs, so the screen will move up and down easily along the cable. Please Note: Depending on the height of the screen, you may need to adjust where the Cable Clamp is located on the Cable Guide. 6. Cut off the excess cable. 7. Repeat on the opposite side of the screen. 1. Thread Cable Guide through dowell and then the provided hole in the endcap. 2. Tighten Cable Clamp 3. Pull Cable Guide taught. 4. Install Wall or Deck Guide Cable Screen Dowel 5. Attach Jackscrew of Guide Cable to Wall or Deck Wall OR Deck Section 5 - Electrical Connections Screen operates on V, 60 Hz. current. Screen is shipped with internal wiring complete and control switch(es) fully boxed, and standardly supplied with a 6 (1.83m) cable lead. Longer lead can be substituted by removing two screws in motor end of roller, removing lead, plugging new lead in, and replacing screws. Wire to connect screen to switch(es) and switch(es) to power supply should be furnished by installer. Connections should be made in accordance with attached wiring diagram, and wiring should comply with national and local electrical codes. DO NOT wire motors in parallel without written permission from Draper. All operating switches should be off before power is connected. Please Note: For low voltage wiring requirements, Draper recommends consulting with a professional low voltage electrical contractor. It is very important that shielded and stranded CAT 5 cable be used to prevent any electrical interference.

4 x x x x Nocturne+ E page 4 of 6 Section 6 - Limit Switch Adjustments Section Standard and Quiet Motors CAUTION: Be sure all switches are in off position before adjusting limit switches. Always be prepared to shut off manually when new adjustment is being tested. Do not allow the screen roller to become exposed by running the screen fabric too far down. Screen may be severely damaged if allowed to run too far up or down. Each screen s limit switch must be set if using group control system. Motor should be installed so limit switches are pointed down or accessible. Section Push Button Limits 1. Fully depress both limit switch push buttons, then operate wall switch to make sure system works properly. 2. Raise screen to desired up stop position. 3. Set upper limit by depressing and releasing the proper (back) push button. 4. Lower screen to desired down stop position. 5. Set lower limit by depressing and releasing the proper (front) push button. Section Screw-Type Limits 1. Determine which direction of fabric travel corresponds with arrows on motor. 2. Operate screen to desired down stop position. Set limit by turning the proper socket toward the + to lower the limit, and - to raise it. 3. Operate screen to desired up stopping position. Set limit by turning the proper screw toward the - to raise the limit, and + to lower it. Section 7 - Eolis Wind and Soliris Wind/Sun Sensor Operating Instructions 1. Place the RTS Motor in Programming Mode. Figure (8) 2. Press the programming button on the back of the Soliris or Eolis RTS Sensor to program it in the memory of the motor. 3. When the measured wind speed exceeds the threshold set on the RTS Sensor, an UP command is transmitted after 2 seconds. As long as the measured wind speed is greater than the threshold, all other commands will be ignored. Once the measured wind speed falls below the threshold, the exterior window covering can be operated with a Telis transmitter after a 30 second delay. With the Soliris RTS Sensor, the sun will automatically activate the motor after a 12 minute delay. 4. When the measured sun intensity exceeds the threshold set on the Soliris RTS Sensor, a DOWN command is transmitted after 2 minutes.
