3 ROLLER-64 SHIPPING BLOCK REMOVAL! IMPORTANT THE ROLLER-64 ELECTRONIC DRIVE UNIT UTILIZES WOODEN SHIPPING BLOCKS AT EITHER END OF THE SHADE. IF THE SHADING SYSTEM THAT YOU ARE INSTALLING USES THE ROLER-64 ELECTRONIC DRIVE UNIT, THE SHIPPING BLOCKS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE INSTALLATION. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY HAVE AN UNDESIRABLE EFFECT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SHADE. Make sure that the brackets are level and plumb. 9 2B Determine the location of your angle brackets and mark the holes on the wall. Make sure that your brackets are level and plumb. Drill and attach the brackets to the wall. Attach the shade to the brackets. Lutron Designer Roman Shades 9

10 Outside Mount - Designer Soft Fabrics - Cords Forward Make Bracket Slits in Fabric If your shade is a cords forward and is an outside mount application, slits will need to be made in the back of the fabric in order for the brackets to be inserted through the back of the shade and be attached to the headrail. Follow the steps below: Place a 1 ½ piece of masking tape on the face of the shade at each desired bracket location Mark a 1 wide cut line on the tape! IMPORTANT: When marking the slit locations, make sure they are placed exactly at the bottom edge of the headrail. If the cut is too high or low with reference to the bottom edge of the fabric, the shade fabric can bunch up or the shade cloth may tear. 11 Attach the Cleat Finishing the Installation - Cord and Cleat or Cord Lock Lifting Systems Warning: If not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Drill 1/16 pilot holes and attach the cord cleat to the wall using the two color-matched screws provided. The location of the cleat must be at a height that will be safe for children. To unlock the shade, pull cord down and towards center of shade. Hold cord and move shade to the desired position. To lock the shade, in place pull cord past the outside edge of shade and release. 12 4 Chain and Clutch Lifting Systems 4.1 Attach the Chain Holder The shade is shipped with the chain holder attached to the chain. Hold the chain holder upright and position it so that the chain is straight. Chain should rotate around the device easily. Mark the location of the installation hole on the wall, and drill a 1 16" pilot hole. Using the screw provided, attach the chain holder as shown. 16 5 IR Receiver Connection (if applicable) 5.4 Plug in the IR receiver. 5.5 Position the IR receiver. Note: The IR receiver should be mounted such that it is in line-of-sight with the remote control and that it does not interfere with the shade. Note: Dress wires to ensure the fabric does not rub while the shade is moving. Bottom View Note: If necessary use 10-foot (3 m) extension (SV-IR-EXT-10 sold separately). 17 5 Setting Limits from the EDU Note: The following pages for setting limits and system programming showcases the Roller-64 EDU system. The programming steps of the Roller-100 EDU system are the same. The Wiring and Programming Guide (P/N ) and/or the Technical Reference Guide (P/N ) contains further information on these steps. Setting the Open Limit from the EDU Note: Setting the Open Limit lower than the Close Limit will cause the shade to move down when raise is pressed and up when lower is pressed. Use the programming stylus to run the shade up and down using the adjustment buttons Press the Open Limit Button ( ), the green LED on the shade EDU will turn on steady, indicating that the EDU is in Set Open Limit Mode. Press the Open Limit Button Steady LED Adjust the position of the EDU to the desired Open Limit using the adjustment buttons ( ). Use the Adjustment buttons to move the EDU position Press and hold the Open Limit Button ( ) for 5 seconds. The green LED on the shade EDU will flash for 2 seconds, then go dark, indicating that the current position has been stored as the Open Limit. 18 5 Setting Limits from the EDU (continued) Setting the Close Limit from the EDU Press the Close Limit Button ( ). The green LED on the shade EDU will turn on steady, indicating that the EDU is in Set Close Limit Mode. Press the Close Limit Button Steady LED Adjust the position of the EDU to the desired Close Limit using the adjustment buttons ( ). Use the Adjustment buttons to move the EDU position Press and hold the Close Limit Button ( ) for 5 seconds. The green LED on the shade EDU will flash for 2 seconds, then go dark, indicating that the current position has been stored as the Close Limit. 19 6 Finish System Programming The Sivoia QED shade is now installed, wired, and the OPEN/CLOSE limits for each shade have been set. The next step is to finish programming the system. Use the instructions in the Wiring and Programming Guide (p/n ) or the Technical Reference Guide (p/n ) and perform these four easy steps: Note: Before addressing, all keypads will operate all shades. This can be used to verify proper wiring and communication. 1. Address the system. This gives each EDU, keypad and contact closure interface in the system a unique address number or name, allowing proper communication between components. 2. Verify wiring of each EDU, keypad and interface using the LED feedback from each system component during addressing. 3. Assign shades (EDUs) to keypads, IR hand controls and/or contact closure interfaces. Tell the system which shades (EDUs) respond to which keypads, IR hand controls and contact closure interfaces. 4. Set and save PRESET shade positions if you desire them to be different from the factory defaults. Lutron Designer Roman Shades 19

20 7 Troubleshooting QED Symptom Shade will not move... Shade does not fully open or fully close... Fabric not level... Fabric not centered over window... Shade does not move smoothly... IR controls will not operate shade... Solution...If Roller-64 shipping blocks not removed....edu is not powered - check EDU Power....Shade is caught on something - free shade....shade is not assigned to keypad, IR, or CCI....Limits have been set incorrectly - refer to set open limit and set close limit sections....shade fabric is caught on something - free shade....check that brackets are mounted level....check that tracking correctly on the shade tube....check that the shade is centered....check for binding of shade fabric on window edge or trim...ir transmitter does not have line-of-sight to IR receiver....out of range - move to within 40 feet (12m) of IR receiver....edus not assigned to IR receiver....ir receiver not plugged into any EDU within range....ir remote control batteries are not providing power, replace them. MANUAL Symptom The shade will not raise or lower... When the draw cords are pulled, only one side of the shade moves up or down... Solution...Check that draw cords....are not caught on the mounting brackets or screws....make sure the shade is not caught on an obstruction, such as a part of the windowsill, crank, or latch. or...check to determine if any of the draw cords have become untied or knotted accidentally.
