2 Report reviewed by: Callum Logan S&W Operations Coordinator - Turners & Growers, Mt Wellington Callum.Logan@TurnersandGrowers.com Mob Fumigation details For the reporting period 1 January December 2013 Total Fumigations carried out Room 18 (Specially designed Fumigation Chamber/Cell): 157 Total amount of methyl bromide used (Kg): 553kg NB: Turners and Growers occupy three large legal land titles at the Mt Wellington site with MB fumigations carried out within all three areas. These fumigation/monitoring sites are known as: 1. Room A (PIX) 3. B. *Refer to Google Earth Map below and T&G legal Land Description Map (upon request with T&G) Each site is quite separate and well governed (Over metres between each and each with significantly larger buffer zones than required under the guidance) Access is denied to non-occupational bystanders and staff alike. The three monitored sites; area A which is known as PIX and area B which are used for shipping containers (20/40ft) for both Import/Export plus Room 18 which is specifically designed for MB fumigations each have had fumigations in the 2013 calendar year. As it is not essential for the results from these different monitoring sites to be combined when calculating the annual averages we have concluded that the exposure levels should be measured at each site and assessed separately against the annual TEL - we have NOT combined the above mentioned sites when calculating the one hour or 24 hour averages, however the data for the two remaining sites are available within the report and the key points below. All fumigations have been performed in accordance with the EPA technical guidance: Methyl Bromide fumigations Post reassessment guidance for fumigators April 2011 and individual records for fumigations carried out within all three monitoring sites recorded, with only Room 18 having MB usage over the 500kg threshold. 4 Monitoring Site Room 18 (R18) NB: Also Showing monitored sites A Pix and B Monitoring and equipment Monitoring for methyl bromide was carried out in compliance with the Flick Anticimex Ltd Flick WI 1 - Methyl Bromide Fumigation Work Instruction in conjunction with the Flick Anticimex Limited Treatment Supplier Manual. NB: Copies are available for review upon request. This includes: Monitoring atmospheric conditions (wind speed and direction) at the time the methyl bromide was being vented: Flick WI 1 - Methyl Bromide Fumigation Work Instruction: 8. Check gas levels for all clear. Check to ensure the gas level at the consignment is <5ppm using the Mini Rae Lite (Green) Check to ensure the gas level at the buffer zone is < 1ppm. If these levels are not achieved, stay monitoring until this has occurred. Record the wind speed and direction using an anemometer. Record this information on the back of the Fumigation Worksheet. Room 18 is prefabricated purpose built fumigation chamber with sealed doors and purpose built electronic gas extraction fans/vents. The chamber is locked down during fumigation and is vented skywards through gas venting flues approximately 20 metres above the sites main building. The access to the main corridor providing access to room 18 is restricted to non-occupational bystanders and staff during the fumigation and venting period. All gas detection, wind speed/direction testing is carried out at the boundary fence / buffer zone perimeter along Road.

All fumigations are performed in accordance with the EPA technical guide: Methyl bromide fumigations. Post reassessment guidance for fumigators April 2011 and the Flick WI 1 - Methyl Bromide Fumigation Work Instruction in conjunction with the Flick Anticimex Limited Treatment Supplier Manual Equipment / Wind direction and speed The equipment used to undertake monitoring of methyl bromide and atmospheric conditions: 1. Mini Rae Lite (P/N 059/4022/000) It monitors Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) using photoionization detector (PID) with a 10.6eV gas discharge lamp. Lamp Range Resolution 10.6eV 0.1ppm to 5,000ppm 0.1ppm 2. DIGITECH Digital Anemometer Wind Speed Meter Gauge Thermometer Product Code : ICQM1644 The ICQM1644 Handheld Anemometer is a rugged, compact option for individuals who need to be able to easily track the air speed, temperature and wind chill 3.
