2 Lattice Overview Lattice addresses two needs; brightness and depth. First, what is the working depth? Second, brightness / lm demands? Additional considerations are: Height and Width? Face type?

3 Understanding Lattice Lattice part numbers refer to the pixel (bulb to bulb) distance on the PCB and the second number is the bar to bar spacing. Due to the bulb to bulb spacing most bars are available in three lengths while some are only available in two sizes. All Lattice bars offer the standard at 600mm / 23.6 length. This is important to remember when choosing the proper Lattice if you have different depth applications and or different cabinet sizes where the same brightness is needed for all signs. Lattice depth guidelines are based on 2447 pigmented white acrylic with no graphics. This is important as a solid white background is the most difficult to illuminate without hot spots and not all competitors provide for this important factor. Lattice is offered in factory pre-configured part numbers to give you repeatable illumination performance every time and no other vendor gives you the choices Bitro offers! The bulb to bulb spacing also allows for multiple bars to be mounted end to end and still have the proper bulb to bulb spacing for even illumination.

4 Installation Bitro offers and optional mounting track that makes installation very easy as the Lattice bars can be installed into the track outside of the cabinet then easily mounted into the cabinet. Great for retro fitting! Other mounting options are almost as easy or complicated as the installer wants. Most typical is to take a light weight aluminum angle (1 x1 avg.) and mount on the main structure parallel to the Lattice bars. Then mount the Lattice connectors to the top (or L and R). Then tension the roll to the bottom or other side and install the connectors to this angle. Some even use wire ties instead of Tech screws. Very easy and clean. Another popular method is to use Spring Clips with a J-hook on one end and a eye on the other as this also makes for a very easy install. Naturally for S/F applications, depending on the background mounting surface the Lattice can be mounted right to this panel, or as above options. Lattice was primarily designed for square corner applications.

7 What s needed? Bitro factory BOM / Bill of Materials drawing, or your knowledge. Simple wire cutters Wire Nuts or Heat Shrink or demands to meet your code requirements. Labor. Its that easy!

8 Notes & Precautions Use standard precautions to avoid damage to product or injuries to installer / users. Failure to comply can cause serious malfunction, electric shock or worse. Always default to the applicable code requirements. 24VDC and 12VDC options confirm! Do NOT USE AC INPUT directly to the LED Do not cut or rejoin wires while product Is electrified Avoid performing installation in direct rain Do not use product under these circumstances: High temperature over 60ºC / 140ºF Extreme moisture or dust Corrosive gas Electromagnetic fields Do not perform actions listed below: Alter or modify. Touch LED bulbs with sharp objects Install glue or silicone over LED bulbs. Confirm maximum Lattice bars per applicable Power Supply. Failure to comply can cause overload of current that can damage the product, or cause flicker. Refer to Wire Gauge standards for proper wire gauge based on distance from power supply to LED Wire lengths for Primary power to Power Supply or Dimmer per standard wire Wire Gauge recommendations.

9 Common Considerations LED Bulb to Bulb distance must be maintained when mounting Lattice bars end to end. Bar to Bar spacing must be maintained when adding additional bars. Do not mix Lattice part numbers that do not match. Lattice for shallower depths can be used in applications with greater depths. Lattice bars designed for greater depths cannot be used in Shallower dimensions.

10 Installation - Prep Clean cabinet / cavity interior of dust, debris etc. Note: Paint cabinet /cavity interior with a flat or semi gloss finish for best light bounce. Drill a ¼ diameter hole in a location of your choice for the primary wire. Always adhere to applicable code needs. Use a grommet to cover the hole to eliminate any wire chafing and possible shorting.

13 Installation visual 3 Connect the secondary power to the Lattice wires. Multiple connections might be required for proper loading of the power supply. DO NOT ATTACH 120VAC to the Lattice! Cap the wire ends that are not connected to the power supply leads. CAUTION. When handling the Lattice bars, avoid pressing directly down on the bar / LED or components.
