4 Mortise Lock Handing Instructions Step 1) Move the Red locki ng screw to side of lock- body being locke d ( Fig. 1) Catch P late Step 2) P ush in latch then depress catch plate with screw driver ( Fig. 1) Step 3) P ull latch out of lock- body and turn latch over ( Fig. 2) RE D Locki ng Screw Figure 1 Figure 2 MAKE SURE CATCH PLATE IS EVEN W/ TOP SURFACE Step 4 ) P ush in latch while holding screw driver behind latch tail ( Fig. 3) Note: P ush in latch until catch plate is no longer depressed ( Fig. 4 ) Step 5 ) Rotate lock front to match bevel of door as shown ( Fig. 5 ) GOOD Figure 4 BAD Figure 5 Figure 3 WARNING: LOCK-IN CAN OCCUR IF LATCH IS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED 2

5 SE CT ION AL: FULL W ORK IN G TRIM IN ST ALLATION Step 1) Install strike with shorter ( 3/ 4 ) mounting screws Step 2) Insert mortise lock into door and hand tighten longer ( 1 ) mounting screws MAKE SURE LOCK IS UNLOCKED Step 3) Thread adapter plate hub into lever and fully tighten Step 4 ) Align adapter plate hub with sq uare hole in lever; ke eping hub as tight as possible NOT E: Spindle can be used to help thread hub into lever Adapter P late H ub Step 5 ) Install O/ S trim assembly 3

6 Step 6 ) Install I/ S adapter plate Use Correct Spindle Orientation BAD STANDARD GOOD MUSÉO Set screw hole in hub faces away from lock edge Step 7 ) Install I/ S spindle and rose Align studs on rose with bushings in adapter plate Step 8 ) Install I/ S lever with set screw 4

7 Step 9 ) Install cylinder and secure with set screw CYLIN DER SE T SCRE W Slightly retract ke y to help thread cylinder into lock- body NOTE: Key and cylinder must be rotated as shown Correct Incorrect AFTER INSTALLING CYLINDER FULLY TIGHTEN LOCK MOUNTING SCREWS Step 10) Mark turn- piece mounting holes and drill two.110 ( BIT # 35 ) holes where marke d Step 11) M ount turn- piece Step 12) Install scalp 5

8 R & L E SCU TCH EON : Step 1) Install strike with shorter ( 3/ 4 ) mounting screws Step 3) Thread hub into lever and fully tighten 4 Installation of Outside Escutch 1. For exterior applications, an optional M99 device is ordered. this kit includes gasket order part number 794F929. The gaskets and the door surfaces. 2A. For fire rated doors feed ribbon cable con Step 2) Insert through mortise the lock fire into stop door plate. and hand tighten longer ( 1 ) mounting screws 2B. For non-fire rated doors, feed ribbon cab through weather seal gasket (if used), th MAKE SURE 3. 9 the cap screw to prevent unscrewing of the cylinder. Turn the key to make certain that the locking mechanism (latch, deadbolt, key) functions correctly. Tighten (2) #12 x 1" lockbody IN ST screws. ALLATION Remove Allen IN wrench. ST RU CT ION S CAUTION Step DOOR 6 ) MUST Install REMAINI/ OPEN S E scutcheon DURING INSTALLATION. USE DOOR STOP. Align Turn- Piece Vertically Ground wire Outside of Door Keypad ribbon cable Gasket (optional) STANDARD NOTE A. For MUSÉO collections ONLY. Rotate adapter Spindles bushing as needed to insure horizontal lever position and Use Correct Spindle Orientation maximum thread engaging lever - adapter bushing. 10 Installation Instructions IN ST ALLATION IN ST RU CT ION S MUSE O 4Trim Installation Instructions of Outside Escutcheon 1. For exterior applications, an optional M99 Weatherseal Gasketing Kit can be ordered when a device is ordered. this kit includes gaskets and a conduit. When ordering the kit separately, HALF W ORK IN G TRIM IN ST ALLATION order part number 794F929. The gaskets may be used as a seal between the escutcheon and the door surfaces. SE CT ION AL: 2A. For fire rated doors feed ribbon cable connector and ground wire from outside escutcheon Step through 1) Install the strike fire stop with shorter plate. ( 3/ 4 ) Step 2) Insert mortise lock into door and hand mounting 2B. For non-fire screws rated doors, feed ribbon cable connector tighten longer and ground ( 1 ) mounting wire from screws outside escutcheon through weather seal gasket (if used), then conduit sleeve in door (not shown). MAKE SURE LOCK 3. With outside lever horizontal, insert mounting posts into the door. Make certain IS UNLOCKED the lever spindle is properly engaged in lock. (see diagram and Note A. below) Screw cylinder into mortise lockbody make certain the cylinder orientation is in the correct position (see diagram below). Using the 7/64 Allen wrench provided, hand tighten (5-10 in. lbs.) the cap screw to prevent unscrewing of the cylinder. Turn the key to make certain that the locking mechanism (latch, deadbolt, key) functions correctly. Tighten (2) #12 Half x trim 1" lockbody adapter plate screws. Remove Allen wrench. must be on non- trim side of the lockb ody CAUTION DOOR MUST REMAIN OPEN DURING INSTALLATION. USE DOOR STOP. Step 3) Install I/ S adapter plate Ground wire Outside of Door Keypad ribbon cable Gasket (optional) Align studs on rose with bushings in adapter plate NOTE A. For MUSÉO collections ONLY. Step 4 ) Install spindle and Rotate rose adapter bushing as needed to insure horizontal lever position and maximum thread engaging lever - adapter bushing. SURE LOCK IS UNLOCKED 3. With outside lever horizontal, insert mounting posts into the door. Make certain the lever spindle is properly engaged in lock.
