6 SYSTEM LINE 1 General product features One system line, two applications: The smallest wall seal profile has two different applications: RAUWALON slim line for household use and RAUWALON slim line plus for professional use. Although the applications were ed for different target groups, they both have one thing in common: RAUWALON slim line profiles The attractive alternative to silicone joints. NEW RAUWALON slim line RAUWALON slim line plus Sealing: Thanks to its optimal sealing function, system line 1 is suitable for conventional application on worktops, but also as a high-quality alternative to silicone joints in sanitary applications, and as a seal around acrylic and ceramic moulded components, e.g. washbasins and bathtubs. Connecting: Due to the symmetrical profile and a newly developed moulded connecting part, system line 1 can also connect vertical surfaces to one another. This makes it suitable for ceiling and floor end strips, for example, for kitchen, caravan and DIY applications. Adding detail: With its high-quality appearance, system line 1 enables the user to add a range of finishing touches. Functional: The moulded pieces can be used with both slim line and slim line plus. 21 RAUWALON WALL SEAL PROFILES Overview of surfaces RAUWALON from REHAU is the wall seal profile system with a wealth of surface effects. The printed PP foil offers diverse possibilities and, as a result, guarantees the greatest possible flexibility. Experience a perfect interface between wall seal and edgeband in seven surfaces: Lacquer types Standard Standard lacquer is the right choice for the majority of decorative prints. Our standard lacquer represents the most commonly used gloss level finish in the worktop industry. Matt The matt lacquer complements the majority of timber finishes, as well as being the ideal companion to stone or fantasy decorative prints. Super matt Super matt lacquer is the answer to current décor trends. With precious woods in mind, super matt lacquer is the perfect solution to an unsuitable gloss effect. Embossing Smooth The smooth finish can be combined with any type of worktop to achieve an ideal match to the surface s gloss level. Satin finish A satin finish enhances the feel of the worktop. Even more precise tailoring to the worktop decorative is possible thanks to optimum surface quality matching. The satin finish is available in matt and super matt finishes. Lacquer embossing With this finish, it is possible to achieve a perfect match to any of the numerous pearl embossing textures used by most worktop manufacturers. High gloss Profiles with this finish fit seamlessly into the world of high gloss worktops and fronts, contributing to a high-quality appearance in the kitchen. 21

22 RAUWALON WALL SEAL PROFILES Processing instructions and product features for all systems 1. Temperature resistance The temperature resistance of the profile system ranges from - 30 C to + 70 C. The temperature of 70 C can be exceeded if hob units with unshielded gas flames are used. A safety clearance of 3 cm between the back edge of the pan and the front edge of the wall seal profile is therefore required to ensure that no thermal damage to the WAP occurs with gas hob units. 2. Preparation of the adhesive surfaces: The surfaces must be dry and free of dust and grease. Loose coatings or porous surfaces must be removed or solidified. The (adhesive) surfaces should be cleaned using an unsoiled cloth and a solvent such as petrol, alcohol, ester or ketone. 3. Installation and processing instructions To prevent chipping and poor processing ability, the profiles must be allowed to acclimatise in a heated room for at least four hours prior to installation. The processing temperature should be between 18 C and 35 C. For RAUWALON slim line plus, please use 2.5 x 10 countersunk chip board screws. 4. Jointing procedure The optimum contact pressure is between N/cm². This corresponds to roughly kg with regard to the surface of the thumb. The profile must have pressure applied at every point to ensure full contact of the adhesive tape to the surface. 5. Final adhesion With RAUWALON slim line, final adhesion is complete after approx. 24 hours. RAUWALON slim line plus adheres immediately. 6. Care and cleaning instructions Clean the decorative surfaces and sealing lips with solvents found in common household cleaning agents or mild plastic cleaners. If the use of an undiluted cleaning agent is necessary, clean with clean water immediately thereafter. Aggressive solvents such as paint thinner, acetone, MCL or MEK are not permitted for cleaning purposes as they can damage the decorative and materials. 7. Storage Profiles must be processed within one year. 22

23 RAUWALON WALL SEAL PROFILES RAUWALON slim line installation tips - Before installation: prepare the surfaces to ensure that they are dry and free of dust and grease. - RAUWALON slim line must be positioned accurately during installation. - The adhesive tape simplifies positioning and single-handed installation. It adheres immediately and can be damaged or cause damage to the profile if re-positioned later. - -To prevent unwanted contact and soiling of the adhesive surfaces, only approximately 50 cm of the protective foil should be removed first of all in order to place the profile. - The remaining foil can then be gradually removed as the profile is applied. - When installing a, for example, the moulded pieces should ideally be applied to the profile prior to adhesion and installed together with the profile. - When applying the second profile leg, the protective foil should initially be left on the adhesive tape. - Simply insert the profile into the moulding at an angle, check the placement, remove the protective foil and press the profile into place.
