SIZES ½ in. CTS through 2 in. IPS Installation Procedure The following guide is for Permasert 2.0 installation procedure reference only. Permasert 2.0 couplings require training on the complete installation procedure before installing any Permasert 2.0 product. Please refer to Honeywell Permasert 2.0 installation instruction document P/N Rev. A for proper installation procedures.

3 Standard Couplings 1 ¼ CTS or Smaller 1. Cut the tubing so that the end is square 5. Using a soft marking tool (felt tip, pen, crayon or grease pencil) mark the tube at the end of the chamfer. This process will mark the stab depth. Remove chamfer tool. 2. Wipe the tubing with a dry clean cloth 6. Stab tubing into the coupling until it bottoms out. The reference mark will be: Within 1/8" of moisture seal on 1/2 CTS through 1 CTS sizes Within 1/4" on 1" IPS and 1-1/4 CTS 3. Inspect Tubing for surface defects If excessive scratches or gouges are visible, cut off the defective area and repeat steps Pressure test the finished joint according to your standard operating procedure. The reference mark can move outward up to an additional 3/8" during pressure testing. 4. Using the Honeywell chamfer tool, insert the tube and rotate the tool to chamfer both the outer diameter (O.D.) and the inner diameter (I.D.) of the tube. Continue until the tube bottoms out.

Blind End Couplings 1 ¼ CTS or Smaller 1. Cut the tubing so that the end is square 5. Remove the chamfer tool and place the tube into the blind end guide on the side of the chamfer tool. 2.

Remove chamfer tool. 3. Inspect Tubing for surface defects If excessive scratches or gouges are visible, cut off the defective area and repeat steps 1-3. 7.

Using the Honeywell chamfer tool, insert the tube and rotate the tool to chamfer both the outer diameter (O.D.) and the inner diameter (I.D.) of the tube. Continue until the tube bottoms out. 8.

Remove chamfer tool. 3. Inspect Tubing for surface defects If excessive scratches or gouges are visible, cut off the defective area and repeat steps Locate the blind or solid end of the coupling. Using the tubing cutter, remove the end of the coupling by cutting on the dotted line. 4. Using the Honeywell chamfer tool, insert the tube and rotate the tool to chamfer both the outer diameter (O.D.) and the inner diameter (I.D.) of the tube. Continue until the tube bottoms out. 8. Stab tubing into the coupling until it bottoms out. The reference mark will be: Within 1/8" of moisture seal on 1/2 CTS through 1 CTS sizes Within 1/4" on 1" IPS and 1-1/4 CTS 9. Pressure test the finished joint according to your standard operating procedure. The reference mark can move outward up to an additional 3/8" during pressure testing.

Choose either process A or B below to mark stab depth. Remove chamfer tool. Inspect Tubing for surface defects If excessive scratches or gouges are visible, cut off the defective area and repeat steps 1-3. Using the Honeywell chamfer tool, insert the tube and rotate the tool in the direction of the arrows to chamfer both the outer diameter (O.D.) and the inner diameter (I.D.) of the tube. Continue until the tube bottoms out. (see next page for process B)

6 B You can also use the offset distance label to mark the stab depth. Using a soft marking tool (felt tip, pen, crayon or grease pencil) mark the stab by aligning the chamfered end of the tube with the offset distance label on the coupling body. 6. The reference mark will be: Within 1/8" of moisture seal on 1/2 CTS through 1 CTS sizes Within 1/4" on 1" IPS and 1-1/4 CTS Within 3/8" on 1 1/4" IPS through 2 IPS sizes Then mark the tubing flush with the end of the coupling body. 7. Pressure test the finished joint according to your standard operating procedure. The reference mark can move outward up to an additional 3/8" during pressure testing. Note: Please mark the tubing flush with the end of the coupling body. Do not use the end of the stiffener as a marking reference point.
