MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT MICHAEL D. HIGGINS I am delighted to send my best wishes to the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and to all those involved in the Peace Proms. For almost two decades now the CBOI have been using the beautiful medium of music to bring together young people from all parts of Ireland, both North and South. It is truly special to listen to the voices of so many talented young singers as they unite together so beautifully in a spirit of peace and understanding. I thank the CBOI for their continued dedication to this wonderful and imaginative initiative, and I wish them every success with Peace Proms.

CROSS BORDER ORCHESTRA OF IRELAND BACKGROUND The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) was established in 1995 as a peace initiative and is composed of over 100 exceptionally talented young musicians from all over Ireland and Northern Ireland. Over the past 23 years, the CBOI has played an important role in building and nurturing vital cross border and cross community relations. The CBOI is conductor by one of the UK s most celebrated and outstanding young conductors, Mr. Greg Beardsell. As the orchestra of first choice for National celebrations and commemorations, the CBOI had the honour of officially launching the Ireland 2016 State Commemorations with a showcase performance at the Convention Centre Dublin on January 1st Heather Humphreys Minister for Arts said that the CBOI sends a powerful message about the kind of Country Ireland has become 100 years on, while also showcasing some of our most talented young people who give us hope and ambition for the future. CBOI has also had the honor of performing for Queen Elizabeth II at Hillsborough Castle and for USA President Barack Obama at the White House, Washington D.C. in This internationally acclaimed and award winning youth orchestra has performed to sell out audiences at all major venues in Ireland, and many throughout the world including Carnegie Hall, New York; the Royal Albert Hall, London; Boston Symphony Hall; Chicago Symphony Hall; and the Oriental Arts Centre Shanghai where they won an international music award for Outstanding Performance. The CBOI also plays a vital role in enhancing Music and Arts Education for young people through our Peace Proms program which has been described as Ireland s most valuable Arts Education initiative. Over 25,000 Primary School children from different social, economic, cultural, religious and political backgrounds throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, actively participate in this programme. The CBOI plays a unique blend of symphonic, traditional and folk music which evokes the rich heritage and culture of Ireland. The full symphony orchestra also incorporates traditional instruments for example Uilleann Pipes and Bagpipes. Our core message of universal peace is central to our music and our message. CBOI is a registered charity in Ireland: 15714; the UK: XT22593 and the USA , and is totally NOT-FOR-PROFIT. We are deeply indebted to all our supporters and sponsors for helping us to bring the joy on music and peace to children, families, schools and communities throughout the world.

General Choreography Notes The choreography accompanying the Peace Proms songs is designed to enhance the music, to reflect the lyrics and to be fun, but never at the expense of singing beautifully. Good posture throughout is essential - feet firmly on floor, slightly spaced apart - weight evenly balanced. Hands are always loosely by your sides. When there s no movement in a song there s no movement, just great posture. Most choreography is upper body only with feet firmly on the floor. Ensure there is no movement (or sound) with the feet. (There are some twisting actions, but foot movement is minimised at all times). Movement should all be at the same level, i.e. to the shoulder, chest, head level as shown in the video. The movements are in the singer s space only, never crossing over into the next singer s space. All movement starts to the right or starts with the right hand, mirroring the video. 9 Peace Proms Choir Lyrics Boogie Medley (Celebrate Good Times) Yahoo! Yahoo! Celebrate good times, come on. Celebrate good times, come on. Celebrate good times, come on. Celebrate good times, come on. (We are Family) We are family. Get up ev'rybody and sing. We are family. I got all my sisters with me. We are family. Get up ev'rybody and sing. We are family. I got all my brothers with me. We are family. Get up ev'rybody and sing. (I Will Survive) Go on now go. Walk out the door. Just turn around now, 'cos you're not welcome anymore. Weren't you the one who tried to crush me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I. (Freak Out) Ah, Freak out! Le Freak. C'est chic. Freak out! Ah, Freak out! Le Freak. C'est chic. Freak out! All that pressure, got you down. Has your head, spinning all around. Feel the rhythm, chant the rhyme. Come on along and have a real good time. Like the days of stompin' at the Savoy; now we Freak, oh what a joy. Just come on down, to the Fifty Four. Find a spot, out on the floor. I will survive. For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive. I've got all my life to live, and I've got all my love to give and I'll survive. I will survive. I will survive. (YMCA) Young man, there's no need to feel down. I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground. I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town there's no need to be unhappy. Young man, there's a place you can go. I said, young man, when you're short on your dough. You can stay there, and I'm sure you can find many ways to have a good time. It's fun to stay at the Y. M. C. A. It's fun to stay at the Y. M. C. A. They have everything for you there to enjoy, you can hang out with all the boys.

It's fun to stay at the Y. M. C. A. It's fun to stay at the Y. M. C. A. You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal, you can do whatever you feel. It's fun to stay at the Y. M. C. A. You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal, you can do whatever you feel. (Blame it on the Boogie) My baby's always dancin' and it would'nt be a bad thing, But I don't get no lovin' and that s no lie. We spent the night in Frisco at ev'ry kind of dis-co, From that night I kissed our love good-bye. Don't blame it on sunshine, Don't blame it on the moonlight, Don't blame it on the good times, Blame it on the boogie. Don't blame it on sun-shine, Don't blame it on the moonlight, Don't blame it on the good times, Blame it on the boogie. I just can't, I just can't I just can't control my feet. I just can't, I just can't I just can't control my feet. I just can't, I just can't I just can't control my feet. I just can't, I just can't I just can't control my feet. Sunshine, Don't blame it on the moon-light, Don't blame it on the good times, Blame it on the boogie. Don't blame it on sunshine, Don't blame it on the moonlight, Don't blame it on the good times, Blame it on the boogie. Sunshine, Don't blame it on the moonlight, Don't blame it on the good times, Blame it on the boogie.

The Greatest Showman Medley (The Greatest Show) Whoa x7 This is the greatest show. It's ev'rything you ever want, it's ev'rything you ever need, and it's here right in front of you. This is the greatest show. It's ev'rything you ever want, it's ev'ry-thing you ever need, and it's here right in front of you. This is where you wanna be. We light it up we won't come down, and the sun can't stop us now. Watchin' it come true, it's takin' over you. Oh, this is the greatest show. We light up we won't come down, and the walls can't stop us now. We light up we won't come down, and the walls can't stop us now. (I Will Come Back Home) From now on, these eyes will not be blinded by the lights. From now on, what's waited 'till tomorrow starts tonight, it starts tonight. Let this promise in me start, like an anthem in my heart. From now on, from now on. From now on. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. And we will come back home, and we will come back home, home again. (Come Alive) Live, come alive, go and light your light, let it shine so bright. Reachin' up, to the sky, and it's open wide you're electrified. And the world becomes a fantasy, and you're more than you could ever be, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. And we know we can't go back again to the world that we were livin' in, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. So come alive.

And the world becomes a fantasy, and you're more than you could ever be, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. And we know we can't go back again to the world that we were livin' in, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. And the world becomes a fantasy, and you're more than you could ever be, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. And we know we can't go back again to the world that we were livin' in, 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. 'cause we're dreamin' with our eyes wide open. So come alive. (This is Me) Look out 'cause here I come, and I'm marchin' on to the beat I drum. I'm not scared to be seen I make no apologies, this is me. Oh, oh, Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. This is me. Look out 'cause here I come, and I'm march-in' on to the beat I drum. I'm not scared to be seen I make no apologies. This is me. Look out 'cause here I come, and I'm marchin' on to the beat I drum. I'm not scared to be seen I make no apologies. This is me. Oh, oh, Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. This is me.

I Sing Out Some days, it seems like love's in short sup-ply. Instead of understand-ing, what I hear is "an eye for an eye". There's gotta be a better way, I'm primed to do my part. So starting today, from deep within my heart, I sing out peace, I sing out hope, I sing out boldly so that ev'ryone will know, life gets better the future's brighter. Burdens feel much lighter when I sing out, when I sing out. I sing out joy, I sing out love. Here's my chance to show the world, what I'm made of. With my voice I can inspire, I empower, I enlighten, With my voice I can heal my world from the very best part of what I am. I sing out, I sing out, I sing out, I sing out, loud and strong X6 I sing out, I sing out, I sing out, I sing out strong We are the voice the world is waiting for, And so we sing like we never sung before. We sing out peace, We sing out love. We sing out boldly so that ev'ryone will know life gets better the future's brighter. Burdens feel much lighter when we sing out, when we sing out. We sing out joy, We sing out love. Here's our chance to show the world, what we're made of. With our voice we can in-spire, we empower, we enlighten, With our voice we can heal the world from the very best part of what we are. We sing out, we sing out. We sing out. From our hearts we sing out.

Make Some Noise I'm not sure what you just heard, but I know a simple trick. You put both hands up, clap them above, Do it, do it just like this. I think I might have caught the dancing sickness, Never ever had a fever like this. But where's the fun in being normal anyway-ay-ay. OK, I feel like turning it up, breaking it down, jump on my feet, don't touch the ground. You got a voice, you got a choice, come on get loud, let's make some noise. Sing it like, Ooh. Ooh. This is the time, it's you and I, let's get la la la la loud. Make some noise. Scream out loud twist, twist and shout, do whatever you want to. And if you're stuck in the middle, boogie just a little and I bet you won't feel so blue. No, tell me do you feel the speakers pumpin'? I ain't stopping 'til the whole room's jumpin'. It's o k to get crazy now and then. Hey! I Feel like turning it up, breaking it down, jump on my feet, don't touch the ground. You got a voice, you got a choice, come on get loud let's make some noise. Sing it like, Ooh. Ooh. This is the time, it's you and I, let's get la la la la loud. Make some noise. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I wanna get la la la la loud, Get la la la la loud. Get la la la la loud, Get la la la la la loud. I wanna get loud I Feel like turning it up, breaking it down, jump on my feet, don't touch the ground. You got a voice, you got a choice, come on get loud let's make some noise. Sing it like, Ooh. Ooh. This is the time, it's you and I, let's get la la la la loud. Make some noise. La la la la loud, Get la la la la loud, Get la la la la loud, Get la la la la la loud. Make some noise. Come on make some noise! Wooh!

Matilda Medley (Naughty) Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water, So they say the subsequent fall was inevitable, They never stood a chance they were written that way. Innocent victims of their story. Like Romeo and Juliet, 'Twas written in the stars before they even met, That love and fate and a touch of stupidity Would rob them of their hope of living happily. The endings are often a little bit gory. I wonder why they didn't just change their story. We're told we have to do what we're told but surely... Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty! Ev'ry day starts with a tick of a clock. All escapes start with the click of a lock. If you're stuck in your story and wanna get out, You don't have to cry, you don't have to shout. 'Cos if you're little you can do a lot, You mustn't let a little thing like little stop you. If you sit around and let them get on top you won't change a thing. Nobody else is gonna put it right for me. Nobody but me is gonna change my story. Some-times you have to be a little bit naughty! (When I Grow Up) When I grow up, I will be strong enough to carry all the heavy things you have to haul around with you when you're a grown up. And when I grow up, I will be brave enough to fight the creatures that you have to fight beneath the bed each night to be a grown up.

And when I grow up, I will have treats ev'ry day and I will play with things that Mum pre-tends That Mums don't think are fun. And I will wake up, When the sun comes up and I will spend all day just lying in the sun. And I won't burn 'cos I'll be all grown up. When I grow up. (Revolting Children) We are revolting children living in revolting times. We sing revolting songs using revolting rhymes. We'll be revolting children 'til our revolting s done, And we'll have the Trunch bull bolting. We're revolting! R E V O L T I N we S I N G U S I N G We'll be R E V O L T I N G it is 2 L 8 4 U We are revolting! We are revolting children living in revolting times, We sing revolting songs using revolting rhymes. We'll be revolting children 'til our revolting s done, We are revolting children living in revolting times, We sing revolting songs using revolting rhymes. We'll be revolting children 'til our revolting s done, It is 2 L 8 4 U We are revolting!

Pop Medley 19 (Best Time Ever) It's keeping me awake. Wonder why I feel this type of way. Like I never knew that I could fly, finally got my chance to reach the sky. Now I wanna go out, so I'm gonna go out. No stopping me now, no stopping me now. 'Cause I wanna go out, 'cause I'm gon-na go out. Wave at the clouds, no-one's gonna stop me now. I'm gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, I'm gonna have the best time ever, hey-oh, hey-oh. I'm gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, I'm gonna have the best time ever, hey-oh, hey-oh. I'm gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, I m gonna have the best time ever, hey-oh, hey-oh. Gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, It's gonna be now or never, hey-oh, hey-oh. I'm gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, I'm gonna have the best time ever, hey-oh, hey-oh. I'm gonna have the best time ever, gonna have the best time ever, I'm gonna have the best time ever, hey-oh, hey-oh. (Party in the USA) I hopped off the plane at L A X with my dream and a cardigan. Welcome to the land of fame excess, whoah, am I gonna fit in? Jumped in the cab, here I am for the first time, Look to my left I can see the Hollywood sign. This is all so crazy. Ev'rybody seems so famous. My tummy's turnin' and I'm feelin' kinda homesick. Too much pressure and I'm nervous. That's when the taximan turned on the radio and the Jay-z song was on, and the Jay-z song was on, and the Jay-z song was on. So I put my hands up, they're playing my song, the butterflies fly away, I'm noddin' my head like yeah, Movin my hips like yeah. Got my hands up they're playin my song, you know I'm gonna be okay. Yeah, it's a party in the U S A. Yeah, it's a party in the U S A. So I put my hands up, they're playing my song, the butterflies fly away. I'm noddin' my head like yeah, Movin my hips like yeah. Got my hands up they're playing my song, you know I'm gonna be okay. Yeah, it's a party in the U S A. Yeah, it's a party in the U S A. (What About Us)

Da da da da da, Da da da da da, da da da. We are searchlights we can see in the dark, We are rockets pointed up at the sky. We are billions of beautiful hearts. We are children who just want to be loved. What about us? What about all the times you said you had the answers? What about us? what about all the broken happy ever afters? Whoah. What about us? What about all the plans that ended in disasters? Whoah. What about love? What about trust? What about us? What about us? What about all the times you said you had the answers? What about us? What about all the broken happy ever afters? What about us? What about all the plans that ended in disasters? What about love? What about trust? What about us? What about us? What about us? What about us? (Glitterball) Standing here in the music hall with my microphone and a glitterball, And you walked right in blowing through the doors like a force of nature, a force of nature. I thought I lost you in a crowd, but how can I when you stand out. You're like the sun through the ev'ning rain, The bells are ringing, you got me singing. Ooh, singing, ooh singing, ooh singing, Oh, you got me singing Ooh singing, ooh singing, ooh singing, Oh, you got me singing. And I feel love, do you feel love? and I feel love. And I Ooh, feel love, singing, do ooh you feel singing, love? ooh and singing, I feel love. Ooh, singing, ooh singing, ooh singing, oh you got me singing. (Castle on a Hill) When I was six years old I broke my leg, I was running from my brother and his friends. Tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass I rolled down, I was younger then, take me back to when, I found my heart and broke it here, Made friends and lost them through the years, And I've not seen the roaring fields in so long, I know I've grown, I can't wait to go home.

I'm on my way, running at ninety down those country lanes, Singing to "Tiny Dancer" and I miss the way you make me feel. It's real. We watched the sunset, over the castle on the hill. I'm on my way. I still remember these old country lanes, when we did not know the answers. And I miss the way you make me feel. It's real. We watched the sunset, over the castle on the hill. Ooh, over the castle on the hill. Ooh, over the castle on the hill. You re the Voice (Chorus only) You re the voice, try and understand it. Make a noise and make clear Ooh Woh oh. We re not gonna sit in silence, We re not gonna live in fear, Ooh Woh oh.
