22 PROPERTY HISTORY Acme Brewing Company was established in San Francisco in After the Repeal (1933), it partnered with its Southern California agent, Bohemian Distributors, and built a plant in Vernon, California in Following suit, other breweries such as Anheuser-Bush, Pabst, Los Angeles Brewing Company, and Eastside Old Tap opened up and became the core breweries of Vernon and Los Angeles. The Vernon Brewers Guild, which was formed in 1972 by Acme Brewing s master brewer Jack Straw (who stepped down from the Executive Director position in 2016), still exists today. The last occupant of the property was Evergreen Scientific, a family owned and operated business for over 40 years, who designed and manufactured plastic products used in life science applications. The Company s products are used worldwide in clinical, biotechnology, veterinarian, industrial, educational, and pharmaceutical laboratories.
