4 2 INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION The Wise brand was introduced in 2003 with our first product, the WiseBox. This product was solely designed to be used outside in garden lighting to enable electricians to wire lights using wireless switches and remotes that could be put anywhere within the range of the IP54 receiver box. With its very easy wiring and programming, the WiseBox has in last few years become an important tool for the electrician in the modern day market. With the success of the WiseBox, we have now taken this product to a new level with a new exciting range to enable electricians, architects, designers and the public to use this product not only outside but inside to revolutionise the way we wire the home. With the introduction of the WiseDim, Retro, Style and PIR wireless switches, these products will make complicated 2 way wiring, dimming and switch positions a thing of the past. This will enable designers and architects to be more flexible and creative in designing new projects. 5 INTRODUCTION 3 WHAT IS WISECONTROLS? Wise Controls is a new brand of radio switches and receivers for commercial or domestic use (home and garden). These controls can be quickly and easily installed into any indoor or outdoor environment. The WiseDim has four 700 watt dimmable circuits and up to a 250 metre range from the wireless switches. You can use Wise Controls products to operate your decking lights, shed light, uplighters, wall lights, downlighters, water features, sensor lights, pond pumps, garage doors, electric shutters, electric gates and many more! Once programmed, you can place your wireless radio switches in any position throughout your home. As no cables are needed between the Wise receivers and the switches. You can enjoy switching your circuits from anywhere in your home or garden with the wireless remote control. The WiseDim remembers the last preset level and will return to the same level when it is switched back on. INSTALLATION? The WiseDim makes installation of home and garden lighting achievable without hardwiring any switches. There are no wires to the WiseDim radio switches. The switches use a wireless 868Mhz radio frequency to communicate with the main WiseDim receiver. The WiseDim has a waterproof rating of IP54 that means that it can be fitted outside or inside. The WiseDim has a range of up to 250 metres from the radio switches in open areas. The range is reduced if the radio signal has to travel through many walls for example. The WiseDim has a mains 240V supply that gives 4x 700 Watt dimmable circuits, which are very easily terminated and controlled within the WiseDim receiver. Once the installation is complete, the switches are easily programmed to provide you with simple and flexible wireless switching. You can switch one way, two way, three way and so on, up to 32 way. You can program your switches to have an all on/off function which is very handy when leaving your home. This allows them to be fitted inside your home or outside in your garden. The receivers are designed to be simple to install, easy to use and most importantly, reliable. The maximum wattage you can have on one circuit is 700 Watts. The total wattage of the WiseDim is 2800 watts. Each circuit on the WiseDim is fused individually with a 6 Amp fuse to protect all the circuits. The WiseDim has many features. The dip switch panel allows you to change each circuit individually from switching to dimming. This feature is used when you have mixed dimming and switching circuits. Just change the dip switch accordingly. You can program any 2, 4 or 7 button switch to turn on/off all circuits, so as you leave your house you can just press one button to turn all your lights off. When you turn all circuits on it remembers the last level so you have one scene built into the WiseDim. The receiver is small enough to be placed in many locations, for example, in the ceiling through a downlighter hole, in the wall either through it, behind a recessed light fitting or in a surfaced mounted fitting. The receiver should be placed in a suitable insulated box. It can fitted into a small waterproof box to allow it to be used outside for your garden lighting, garage doors and water features. The receivers are designed to be simple to install, easy to use and most importantly, reliable. Any of the Wise 868 switches can be used with this receiver, including the remotes and modules. The WISEFL17 retro radio module has been designed to fit onto any standard dimmer plate from 1 gang to 24 gang. The retro radio module has a locking nut that screws onto the front of the dimmer plate. 32 retro radio modules can be added to each Wise Receiver providing ultimate flexibility. You can add up to 32 switches to the Wise receivers. This means there is no need for two way wiring as you can add another radio switch. You could keep one with your cars keys, as you drive up to your house you can switch on your garden lights and hall lights. You can program the 1 button remote to switch more than one Wise receiver. So for example, if you had three receivers it is possible with the 1 button switch to control a circuit from each of the receivers. There is no limit on how many Wise receivers are programmed to the same remote. You can place this sensor anywhere you like without the need to hard wire it. The sensor can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. The eyeball has the word top printed on it. Whichever way you fit the sensor the word top must be at the top. The sensor can only be programmed to one channel on the WiseDim Box. You can add up to 32 switches to the WiseDim. The PIR sensor can be placed inside or outside.
