Important Safety Information Important Safety Information A Read these instructions carefully and look at the equipment to become familiar with it before trying to install, operate, service or maintain it. The following safety messages may appear throughout this manual or on the equipment to warn of potential hazards or to call attention to information that clarifies or simplifies a procedure. The addition of this symbol to a Danger or Warning safety message indicates that an electrical hazard exists which will result in personal injury if the instructions are not followed. This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages with this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. DANGER DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury. WARNING WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage. CAUTION CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. Failure to follow these instructions can result in injury or equipment damage. NOTICE NOTICE is used to address practices not related to physical injury. The safety alert symbol shall not be used with this type of safety message. Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage. Please Note Electrical equipment should only be installed, operated, serviced, and maintained by qualified personnel. No responsibility is assumed by Schneider Electric for any consequences arising out of the use of this material B 001 5

A Important Safety Information A qualified person is one who has skills and knowledge related to the construction, installation, and operation of electrical equipment and has received safety training to recognize and avoid the hazards involved B 001

A Technical Data Operating Principle The AccuSine SWP allows: Reduction of current distortion and problems due to harmonics, e.g.: Unintentional tripping of protections owing to the value of current in the neutral Cable heating, notably in the neutral Heating of generators (transformers, generator sets, inverters, etc.) Standards on harmonics consumed on mains not being respected Improvements on voltage distortion as well as on device operating problems due to over heavily disturbed supply voltages Improvements on the installation characteristics so that devices can operate under the specified conditions Reactive energy compensation, when this type of operation is possible, and conversion of the cosine Φ to a value higher than or equal to 0.94 as recommended by electricity utilities The current consumed by a non-linear load (e.g. a computer system) is composed of a sinusoidal current IF (A), which is a fundamental current at mains frequency, and a harmonic current IH (B) made up of currents having frequencies that are multiples of the network frequency. The AccuSine SWP continuously generates a current equal to IH (B) so that mains current only has to supply the fundamental current. The load in Amp (C) + AccuSine SWP assembly will then be seen by mains as a globally linear load which absorbs sinusoidal current. Thus, the cabling and generator impedances will not introduce any voltage distortion B 001

Technical Data A Device Functional Features The AccuSine SWP allows: Determination of the harmonic orders to be compensated: By configuring the breadth of the spectrum to be compensated, or by concentrating the capacity of the AccuSine SWP compensation on specific harmonic orders during installation and thus carrying out selective compensation Reactive energy compensation to be carried out to increase the load cosine Φ and return to the cosine range applied by the energy utility Measurements and other variables calculated by the device (voltage, current, distortion rates, etc.) to be displayed Optional communication with an external controller via a Modbus & J-BUS protocol RS422/485 line for transmitting display information The compensation introduced by AccuSine SWP in relation to harmonic and reactive currents is continuously recalculated. The AccuSine SWP continuously measures current absorbed by the load and immediately modifies the current that it reinjects onto mains to match this value B 001 9

Options Parallel Capabilities A Parallel Connection of Active Harmonic Filters The parallel connection of the AccuSine SWP active harmonic filter provides conditioning of higher rated loads. The parallel connection increases the conditioning capacity (up to 480 A per phase) or ensures redundancy in certain installations where conditioning of harmonics is critical to continuity of service. NOTE: Parallel connection of up to four active harmonic filters All the active harmonic filters must have the same rating An additional board must be installed in each of the parallel-connected active harmonic filters A connection (wire) between the active harmonic filters is used to exchange the measurement data on the current drawn by the load and operating status from each of the active harmonic filters B

A Options Cascading Installation of Active Harmonic Filters Active harmonic filters can be installed in a cascading configuration, contact Schneider Electric. Settings must be made to avoid any interaction between the various active harmonic filters. The first AccuSine SWP A generally manage high-frequency harmonics and the other AccuSine SWP B, installed upstream, manage lowfrequency harmonics and, if applicable, any residual harmonics not conditioned by the first AccuSine SWP. NOTE: The active harmonic filters can have different ratings The total number of active harmonic filters is limited to two The active harmonic filters require parameter settings B 001
